Do I have to register my new cat and get shots for it?

Thanks for the advice! It really helps, i just wanted to ask more questions if you don’t mind How do you know when a cat gets sick? Does my cat HAVE to visit the vet and get the shots? Our new cat is a stray. So do we have to register for a cat license?

                      Thanks

It might vary by state, but I have never heard of anyone registering a cat.

Your cat does not have to go the vet, but it’s certainly recommended, especially if the cat goes outside. There are some diseases that cats can get that have no cure yet, but there are vaccines for those diseases. Fixed cats are also healthier and tend to live longer than intact cats.

Sometimes it’s difficult to know when a cat is not feeling well. Just watch for anything out of the ordinary such as if the cat suddenly stops eating, drinking, or going to the bathroom. Also take note if the cat starts going to the bathroom a lot more than usual or vomiting more than the occasional hairball.
