How much do political decisions that the government make matter to you?

I’m more concerned with how my age group feels about this. I know a lot of adults on here are very well informed, biased or no. I’m more concerned with the youth, how much does it matter to you what the government does?

Answer #1

Not that much because they aren’t really doing anything, once they grow a pair and step up to the plate and start making desisions that matter then i might care about them a llittle more.

Answer #2

What current decisions do you think don’t matter?

Did you know the Supreme Court recently ruled the sex offenders (or those deemed as sex offenders) can be held in jail indefinitely? Even past their sentence? Add that to the fact that a “sex offender” could be an 18 year old man sleeping with his 17-year-old girlfriend. Or what about Obama’s policy on offshore drilling? Good idea, considering oil is basically killing thousands and thousands of sea animals (including otters and birds) per day? How does this stuff not matter to you?

Answer #3

See my answer to hot_spot911 above. I may be 26 and therefore considered an adult, but to think that lawmakers “aren’t really doing anything” is complete and utter bull**hit. They make laws that effect us EVERY DAY – just some people are too ignorant to read, inform themselves, realize this, and care.

This was a bird once. And the laws our government makes regarding oil tank regulations MIGHT make sure this doesn’t happen again. Or they decide to keep letting international companies like BP skirt around rules and regulations of safety, and this happens again. It might not effect us— but it affected this bird. And I hope hot_spot911 above me, reads and sees this.

Answer #4

they started a god.dam war! our pair was ripped off when bush atacked iraq!

Answer #5

How does that answer the question?

Answer #6

i was responding to hot_spot’s answer

Answer #7

Wait till the nex taxes start rolling in….then you’ll see that they’ve been busy as little bees in Congress….racking up debt, putting in health care, next will be cap and trade….once you see the gross on the paychecks staying the same, but the take keeps shrinking…..then it will get apparent that they aren’t sitting on their a**es.

Answer #8

They matter a lot in the Anglo-Saxon world because they decide our lives, but there is ALWAYS some choice.
