Why do people always worry more about the health of their pets than their own health?
I just saw a question regarding salt that should not be added to a pet’s food. Now as the vet said, it is bad for pets, but its not like its going to kill your pet immediately. It will also just weaken some things in its body and make it more likely to get certain things which it can die of. The effect is pretty much the same as with humans. Yet people are more likely to stop giving their pets the unhealthy food than to stop eating it themselves. Why are people like that?
I think its sort of like when parents tell their kids to go outside and play and get exercise as they sit on the couch eating chips. Its a “Do what I say, not what I do” thing. I think we pretty well all do it (I know I’m guilty of it occassionally). I think its easier to be concerned over someone else than yourself.
Asking this is like asking why do people take more care of their baby than themselves. It’s because the pet can’t really take care of itself so people have the need to take good care of it(a kind of paternal instinct). Besides for some people their pets are the closest thing they have to family.
People form special bonds with their pets. More often than not, the thought of something happening to their best friend if scary and heartbreaking. People think differently when it comes to themselves. We can say when something hurts or makes us uncomfortable. We can go to the doctor any time we can. Pet’s can’t tell us, they can’t just go. So people do their best to take care of them.
I think you are right, I also think that with food, that animal has no control over there diet, if they did I am sure they would eat what taste the best to them. Same can be said for humans, but adults most of the time have full control over there diet an they seem to pick things that taste good, not good for them.

Why don't they just get up, and do some exercises, and eat right? That is the healthy, and most effective way to lose weight.
