How come some people don't care about their education, preferring to just quit and stay home for the rest of their lives?

depending on others?

laziness.

Answer #2

They are lazy, and relying on other people. Perhaps they have suffered a trauma that has made them lose any sort of motivation for a future.

Answer #4

Maybe they don’t see a future, with all the crisis and bad economy everywhere. Maybe they think they will fail anyway, so they never bother trying.

Answer #5

Weren’t you one of those people just a few days ago saying you wanted to quit working on your GED?

Answer #6

People who are looking for the easy way out instead of doing the hard work. They are lazy, unmotivated, hoping someone comes their way to take care of them. Don’t have goals, or don’t have the money. They could care less, or it runs in the family.

Answer #10

Good on you!

Answer #11

Many reasons. I wouldn’t put laziness at the top of the list. Boredom and depression certainly comes to mind. I know of some hard working people who quit, even while doing well, they just didn’t see the point in it all anymore. I don’t either, even though I only have one exam left (which I will complete, merely because I have nothing better to do).

Answer #12

Education is very important to me and my family. So I guess I was raised like that. Maybe some people aren’t raised to believe that education is important? Or maybe they are just lazy? I do know that some people with learning problems give up, because failing all the time just becomes too much… But then you also get people with learning problems who don’t give up and keep going untill they reach their goals… So it depends on the person, I suppose. Some people give up and others fight. And then you get some people who had to give it up for reasons out of their control, like poverty. There are many cases in South Africa where the oldest child in the family, usually between 13 and 18, drop out of school if their parents pass away, many times because of AIDS, and start working to take care of their younger brothers and sisters.

Answer #13

because they have it too easy and see that as the better option

Answer #14

Well, laziness is the first thing that strikes.People are too lazy to open their books and go through the things inside. They find sleeping and passing time on stupid things a better option for a good life.

Some girls have the mentality that they will just marry some cool and rich material to pass on their lives after all ‘why should they work hard when they can pass their entire life on someone else’s shoulders?’

Some guys are dependent on their heriditary property. They are born rich and think they don’t need to work or study anymore, after all their parents can pay for them.

Some people think it is a better life being dependent on other people. It’s just that it depends on the type of people they are and the amount of value they give to education.

Note:My update above is all on my personal opinion,it was not intended to offend anyone.
