Should I drop out of School or not?

Hello, Yeah…Thinking about dropping out of school. I’m 18 years old, have serious problems and got held back a year and I think they’re going to put me back another year. Why should I stay Why should I go? yeah yeah yeah…Staying gives higher education, better paying job in future, and all those good stuff. Why should I go, Well I’m already like 1 and a half years behind. All I want to do is Draw, or Animate that’s it. I’m pretty good at it, know a lot about it, and could do it. What I don’t know is English, or how to communicate with others, I’ve had had help from many people, Tutors, Uni friends, Teachers what ever, I don’t really understand what they are trying to say, I’m not saying that those are the ONLY reason why I am dropping out, It’s because… I just don’t get stuff in life you know? All this school, what for? the way I see it is, school till you’re 21 and then get a job and do what ever you want. Why not get a job now, Do it and work your butt off and learn at the same time. Sure I might regret that I dropped out but I really would rather work. You’ve got to understand what I’m trying to say, I mean school is not going to help me, I can cook, So I can live without a chef, I can fix and do many stuff, So I don’t need to call for professionals or what ever, sigh not to brag or anything but I a can do whatever. And well another thing is If I happen to drop out I can work for a close friend’s dad making 13+ dollars an hour and will increase over the months, Full time, and still come back home around 6 o clock (100% sure) so I can start practicing more drawing and animating. I’m pretty much set, but then what the f*ck. why am I holding back, oh.. it’s because of the future, it basically goes like this > Work,draw/animate,eat,sleep and repeat but what happens when the company goes out of business or something, I’m screwed. I was thinking that if I was good enough and serious about drawing/animating that someone will recognize my work and accept me, Though that is a very low chance, but hey… it’s still something. BUT ANYWAYS guys…what should I do Drop or Stay? And please really think about what I said. I’ve already talk to my parents about this but… I don’t think they understand, We aren’t that close I guess… And because they’re Asian…lol… they just want me to go to school. But yeah… What is the Smartest thing to do?

(Note that this type of dropping out is for people who can see the world out there, If you can live without school in a good way, go ahead drop out, if not Sit your butt down in class and learn the all you can It would be much better for you)

Look at your future - if you don’t have a good education the chances of you having a good life is slim. You will most definitely regret dropping out if you do. My mom dropped out in 11th grade and she always tells me how much she regrets it because its stopping her from getting a higher paying job. If you are having troubles with school then look into home schooling or some sort of correspondence program, its for your best interest.

I was missing 1 credit and got offered a full-time job and was stupid enough to take it. I worked the full time for ~4 months and one day was like “what am I doing?” like it makes you feel so low. I’m half a credit away from graduating, with a 97% average, I’m so proud of myself. I’m doing it through correspondence so I just do my work from home and take my work to my teacher after each notebook.

I think you should continue in school just to get a degree and a better chance for jobs and a wider variety to choose from. You may not want to keep the job you have in mind now i mean people change right? so keep your options open :)
