North Korea

tseirpeht, I am sorry, but you knowledge of science has proven to be limited. “super power of nukes”? What does that mean. Are england france and germany super poswer? Are india, pakistan, and israel superpowers? They so far have shown they are very interested in having long-range nuclear capabilities. But they are a long way from actually having them. There is a big difference between launch a sattelite (much less one with nukes as you said they had) and delivering a nuclear weapon half way around the globe. Once some thing is in space or in orbit, you are right, it takes little propulsion to move it, but re-entry is not so easy, and requires a whole other type of science and expertise.

I am not saying that they are not dangerous, and not to worry about them, but do not give them more credit than they are due.

I was refering to the super power of nukes. Granted its not a “Powerful” nuclear weapon it is still classified as a nuclear bomb. I get my information from the news thankyou very much. Furthermore if you can launch a satalite into space you have long range missile capabilities because in space you only need a little propulsion to move in there.

Good answer, tseirpeht. For a long time the West has tried to ignore the growing technological power of North Korea, so it’s about time people woke up.

A further point - and a very sad one - is that much of this technological growth has come at the expense of other things that are usually considered more important - like food enough for all. North Korea has a long history of food ashortages and famines.

North Korea just recently became a super power. A year or so ago on the 4th of July they launched a Nuke into the pacific (not a big one, could barely be called that). Anyway they are now launching what they claim to be a satellite which would be their first ever, but there are suspicions that it could be a nuclear weapon.

The big thing in the news really is that they have the technology to reach us and we are not really friends with them at all. In fact their general (who is their leader) is recognized as a near god-like status

The current leader, Kim Jong II is the son of Kim Sung who was made President for eternity. They have sufffered graveley under their oppressive communist regime, unlike there Capitalist neighbor South Korea which is doing much better economically.
