Do you think the dictatorship of north Korea will be more democratic now that kin jong il is dead?

So kin jong ils son was promoted to a four star general last year so im assuming they knew that kin was already ill (play on words :P) But do you think that his son will rule the country more democratically?

Answer #1

. No I am afraid that will not be the case. . ….. “Like father, like son” is one of those adages that is very often true, especially where the son perceives that he is adopting a role in which his father was ostensibly successful, and popular among his immediate peer group and social clique. . I suspect that North Korea will continue to be a repressive regime for many years to come. .

Answer #2

Do you think perhaps that the son will be even more dangerous?

Answer #3

Probably not, however, there is a possibility that he may have “itchy fingers” and want to try out all those nuclear missiles that the regime amassed under his father’s misguided domination. The fact that North Korea has the support of China does not bode well for the immediate region in my opinion - even if only due to the prospect of intimidation non-supportive states in the immediate region, rather than actual active aggression.

Answer #4

here is my question why is he constantly refereed to as a dictator why can’t any one just call him what he is the leader of north Korea.

Answer #5

@John Cone: Prior to this post, there were five posts in this thread, and only one of them explicitly used the word “ dictator “, and that was yours. Additionally, the OP used the word “dictatorship”. . There are probably millions of questions stored on FunAdvice, and if you use the Search facility to locate questions that use the word “Dictator”, it only finds two questions - one using the word “dictate” and the other specifically using the word “Dictator” in referring to Egypt.
http://www.funadvice.com/search/answers?q=%22Dictator%22 . I have been unable to find any post that explicitly calls / called the late Kim Jong il a Dictator: thus I conclude that is rather more than a gross exaggeration to imply that people contstantly refer to him that way among the hundreds of thousands of posters registered with FunAdvice. . However, back to your overemphasised query: There are various words used to describe the heads of sovereign states: including King; President; Prime Minister; Dictator; etc.; . ….. and the most accurate among them, to describe the control that Kim Jong il exerted over his Country and People was “Dictator”. Your alternative suggestion of “Leader” is simply too bland and sanitized to begin to portray the enormity of his despotic tyranny. .
