Why do I have nightmares AFTER my bf leaves in the morning?

:/ this has happened like twice within the last week. About 3 days ago my bf and I talked like all night and spent a lot of time together but it got really late so we went to sleep. As soon as I did, I just blacked out I was so tired. I had a extremely realist dream about past abuse, which I’ve had a lot of these types of dreams before but it stopped after a while. My guy doesn’t know about the abuse and I haven’t talked about it yet with him because’s he’s been really busy and dealing with a lot of his own personal stuff.. Well, last night we fell asleep together and I felt really safe. The night before as well, we slept together (not sexually) and I had like the best sleep ever. This morning he woke me up getting ready for school, I just rolled over and went back to sleep because I was too tired to get up and as soon as he left I went into a hard sleep and had another nightmare. I’m still shaking right now from it, it felt so real. I don’t get why this happens as soon as I know he’s not like, with me. -.-

As you said, he gives you the feeling of security which lets you fall asleep peacefully… or black out haha, but once he’s gone, that feeling of security is gone. I get quite the same actually, I’m usually so stressed and cannot sleep but once I get to sleep with my boyfriend I pass out for hours and hours.
