My mom won't let me have one of my friends kittens

My best friends cat,Lullaby just had a litter of kittens. Before,my friend asked if I wanted to give one of them a home and look around at homes for another.Of course I want to give one of the kittens a home, but my mom isn’t so excited about it.She told me yesterday that they smell and $hit everywhere.I told her that they are very clean animals and they can be trained to not $hit everywhere. She tried to surprise me with the lack of training of my dog.The only reason she’s not well trained is because when we got her,it was a little too late.I told her this and she was quiet for a second. Then she said ‘you’re still not getting one’.I need some tips on how to convince her that I can keep one of the kittens. They need homes!!!

Answer #1

youve got to respect your mothers house… and her decision unfortunatly is final…in saying that when I first moved in with my nana I wasnt even allowed a goldfish but now I have two snakes two fish a newt and a yorkshire terrier puppy that she got me for my 17th birthday…what ya gotta do is make it reallly clear that the kitten would be your responsibility and she wouldnt even know it was there … I mean you would have to pay for its food litter and insurance, make this clear to her and also say that your never going to be able to prove your responsibility to her if she never gives you chance to :p hopefully this will work…good luck

although she has a point ^ they are expensive…

Answer #3

Uhm cats use litterboxes, it’s pretty much instinctive… there’s not much training involved. and my cat doesnt stink… if she does, I give her a bath. There’s really not that much day to day maintaining when it comes to cats

Answer #4

It’s your mother’s house, unfortunately.

And if you want a cat, you have to think about the responsibility. Can you pay for litter, food, toys, and vet bills? Nope, I’m guessing not.

Still, I will tell you this, if you’re yelling and fighting about it, and stamping your feet and such, you’ll never get one.

Taking care of an animal is an adult responsibility, and you should be an adult if you want one, even if she says no, so next time, when you’re older, she’ll remember you were mature about not getting a cat even though you were disappointed.

Answer #5

take it anyway!!! keep it in your room and give it to your friend when it neds to go to the vet and stuff
