Why do people think that kittens won't make it without their Mom?

Hi I have a question. Why do people say that if you find baby kittens and the mom died and the kittens are only 3 wk old that they’ll die? I found five abbandon baby kittens when I was THIRTEEN and nursed them w/ a medicine dropper and KMR and they all lived and they are all healthy. My mom and dad still have the one I was able to keep named Tigger and my family members have the other four.So why do people say it’s so hard and it’s a dead cause?

Thanks my dad was the one who told me how often to feed them. All 5 of them are really special and each family in our extended family still have theirs. They are all really beautiful tabby cats w/ white bibs and BIG circle shapes on their hips : )

My hat’s off to you!!! It takes a TON of care and time and determination to save 5 orphaned kittens…You did great!! Most people wouldn’t be able to pull that off…that’s why they say that :)

Well what they told me was that the mothers milk was an important thing that they need to survive on for the first 6-7 weeks. They also said the kitties would suck on everything if they didn’t get the moms milk that long. This is just what the shelter told us.The only reason I knew to look for kittens is because the mom was hit and you could tell she was nursing. The kittens were like two mins away in an abbandon car on a old property and didn’t act wild b/c they were so young. They are the most loving thankful kitties.Tigger hugs people and you can hold him like a baby. He is also a talker and has his own huge plant window w/ lots of sun. My mom did not ever get him fixed but he’s never sprayed or fought w/ the other cats yet.Everyone that meets him wants to take him home : )

Maybe the people that said that, was thinking of the kittens not getting the love & care that you provided for the baby kittens…they probably thought of the kitties having to try to make it on their own, with no help…I’ll bet that was the way they were thinking…I’m so glad that you were into those kitten’s lives…in the wild they might not have made it…alone…Congrats to u, 4 being there for them …dichihuahua
