my 2 year old son wont eat him self

My son is 2 year old and won’t feed him self why? I hat seeing other kids his age eating them selves win folks and spoons and there’s me feeding him he will eat choclate bars and sweets himself but I have to feed his dinnier is it normal for me to feed him still?

Answer #1

I know it will be hard for you, but the best way is to just refuse to feed him anymore. the fact that he can eat sweets without your help shows that he is capable. if you all eat dinner together, that would make it easier because he will want to fit in. if he see’s everone else eating then he will want to eat too just like everyone else. my baby is 11 months old and already eating finger foods on his own. you just have to let him see how great it is to be independent with his food. start out with things he can eat with his hands first, and after a while, let him start using a spoon. a lot of children will just refuse to be independent until you show them they have to be. just don’t get discouraged because you aren’t the only one with a toddler who does these types of things. you just have to find what works to motivate him.

Answer #2

you need to tell him if he wants to eat and is hungry he can feed him self other whise he will think you will do it his hole life

Answer #3

Yes it’s normal but he still needs proper training.Leave him in his feeding chair with his food and spoon.Just clean up where he mess you will see he will get the hang of it.

Answer #4

no it isn’t normal. it just means he doesn’t wanna make the effort. just put the food in front of him and tell him to eat it himself. I’m sure he’d rather not starve.

Answer #5

No problem…he’ll come around - maybe lift it half way and pretend ypu can’t make it to his mouth, lol…Take care !!
