Would a loving God burn people forever?

I know some people sin unrepentantly, but isn’t eternal torment a harsh sentence? And I am not buying the argument that “God doesn’t send them there, they send themselves.” Since God is the judge, he would pick the judgement.

Answer #1

Besides are you admitting that you report people? Isn’t that tattling?

Answer #2

Also, why on earth do you even care?

Answer #3

I asked a question of other people to find out their views. Then I gave my own. It was a legitimate question of others and it hurt you in no way whatsoever.

Answer #4

She is the administrator here, so it’s not tattling, and she has to care about the appropriateness on this site

Answer #5

She didn’t identify herself as the administrator. She didn’t refer me to any guidelines. Plus it is a legitimate question and is not inappropriate in a rude way. It attracted answers so those people liked it and shouldn’t your site be about pleasing the public? Not controlling others others rights to express themselves? For those who don’t like the question, they can go to questions that they like. Other sites allow this type of question.

Answer #6

In what I found on your guidelines I couldn’t find anything forbidding what I wrote. Could I be directed to something please?

Answer #7

Personally, I don’t think there is a god. So the whole question is moot.

Answer #8

It’s not a question if you’re answering it yourself - it’s preaching, and we don’t allow it. Case closed.

Answer #9

I didn’t answer it myself. I asked other people their views. Then I shared my own. Plus I want to see in the guidelines what I did is wrong. If you show me that then I will accept it. How do I know that it is not just your own interpretation of the rules?

Answer #10

He didn’t do it to us, we did it to ourselves. Hell was not made for people.

Answer #11

What part of “case closed” don’t you understand?

Answer #12

I asked you to give me the guidelines. That is a fair request.

Answer #13

You took the time to answer and then didn’t answer.

Answer #14

It depends what you believe. If you believe what is written in the bible then what hell is is nothing more than a second death where the wicked is burned then ceases to exist. So I guess that doesn’t sound so harsh, bit it does sound a bit scary. I mean think of it, you no longer exist, at least if you burn in the contemporary, or Dante’s version of hell you’re still being.

Answer #15

God is a just God. He has given every person on this earth a chance to decide whether or not we will live for Him. We know the consequences and we know of the eternity of Heaven and Hell. He has given us a choice of where we will spend eternity. Our physical bodies will not burn, but our souls will be in Hell. I think Hell is the complete absence of God. I never, ever want to experience that. God will do what He says He will do. So read your Bible, find it out for yourself. Take God on His Word.

Answer #16

Wasnt the question

Answer #17

but then why send ppl there.

Answer #18

If we make the wrong decisions, he picks the punishment, not us. If I disobey my parents, they pick the punishment. If they burn me with cigarette butts, that would be viewed as abuse.

Answer #19

I have read the Bible over and over and have not found Hell to be a teaching. You are in a minority because most people think it is literal fire that is torturous.

Answer #20

If Hell is the complete absence of God, why would the people care? If they didn’t want to live by his rules and didn’t love him, why would they want to be around him?
