Is God a bad father?

Depends on what got you’re referring to. In this case, you seem to be referring to the bible…ah, but what version? King James? New international standard? American?

Then, there is the issue of translation…are you referring to the Torah part of the bible, aka, the old testament, or the new testament?

And given the various languages the bible was written in…there aren’t any solid resources that I’m aware of that have good analysis of the various possibilities of translation from the language it was written in, to the language we’re speaking now.

As an example: I’m reasonably fluent in Spanish, but some concepts simply don’t exist in English as they do in Spanish. So, by tranlsating, you lose inherent meaning.

Given the dates of the languages in question, something must have been lost along the way. So…to answer your question: it’s up to your personal interpretation. Do what you think is right, be it in the bible, in the sky, in the computer…or in your heart.

There is only one of God’s rules you must follow in order to not spend eternity in hell..and that is to be saved. God is certainly not a bad father. He is actually the exact opposite. He loves us no matter what we do, and if you repent of your sins and ask Jesus into your heart, God will have mercy on you no matter what you have done.

God in teh old testiment does sound very destroying, it’s not to be taken literally, it’s all written by the Isrealites in teh old testiment, and it’s just really proverbal.
