Why do people want to raise God higher?

For He is so worthy of our praise. Because of our eagerness to show God His worthfulness we worship Him.

Praying the Psalms back to Him is pure joy to His ears!

Same thing as reverence, as you would call a judge, “Your honor.” And as our Abba Father, we love Him first over everything, then our mate, then our kids, then our friends, then our job, and we put ourselves last.

The person saying that is an avowed Atheist. did you know that?

Some people fear God, I suppose, but, I personally love him. What I do, I do out of love and not fear.

I think God wants us to fear him in a healthy way, respect… and reverance… is what he is looking for.

However, remember, God is complete in himself. He does not need us. He desires our fellowship, but, we are the one that benefits the most from a relationship with him.

He offers. We either seek him or reject him. He loves us. But, he will not force us into a relationship. This is not what he wants. It is not his will to boss us, or tell us what to do.

He is all knowing, and all caring, and has our best interest at heart.

His ways, if followed , protect us from much heartache, and harm.

there is a spirit world around us that we can’t see, we are in the middle of it.

For me it’s not fear, it’s love. But the older versions of the Bible (KJV etc) do use the word ‘fear’ because its meaning has changed slightly over time. They don’t mean ‘fear’ as in ‘to be terrified of’ but ‘fear’ as in ‘to have a healthy respect of’. We need to remember that, whilst God is Love, He is also powerful, so we need to both love and respect Him. A classic quote from my minister when I was a child: ‘God is the All Mighty, not the All Matey’.

Love Him for providing a WAY / A GIFT (Jesus) to get to Heaven when He didn’t have to !! - see John 3 : 16 - it says it all.
