Why do I keep losing weight even though I have been trying to eat more?

I am now 90ish lbs and Im 5”6. I’ve been trying to eat more. I’ve been eating more chicken, cheese, pasta, rice etc. I snack a lot and I’m pretty lazy too. But I am somehow still losing weight.

Wow I’m 5’6 and I weigh 150 I’m trying to loose the extra 10 pounds. Maybe you just have a really fast metabolism …

Are you taking any medications that may have you loosing weight? My friend has a thyroid problem and the pills she takes make her gain a lot of weight. If not then don’t worry keep eating. Or go to a nutritionist….maybe they can tell u. Or a doc.

Nope no medication at all. Last time I went to a doctor, she just told me I’m underweight and should gain :/. I guess I’ll just go again. Thanks :}

you are so lucky…I think many women wish they could be like you! Heck I am even envious…:P I just drink a glass of water and feel like I gain 10 lbs…:(

it must be seriously a fast metabolism, we should all be so lucky…

if you want to gain 20 lbs easy…try this a friend of mine tried it to gain some weight! It worked!

for breakfast…

  1. pancakes w/ maple syrup
  2. cheese omelet, cut up a tomato/cucumber and have a piece of toast on the side…wash it down with oj, coffee, tea or chocolate milk!
  3. bagel with cream cheese and coffee/tea/or hot chocolate

for lunch any of these…

  1. a hamburger w/ fries wash it down with coke…
  2. white rice with Asian food like sweet & sour chicken or sesame chicken if you like beef then maybe beef with mushrooms or beef with broccoli.
  3. can always order pizza :)
  4. deli food…anything on rye…like turkey/pastrami/brisket/salami/bologna or anything you fancy add some mustard on the bread, some coleslaw on the side with a half sour pickle and a potato knish..wash it down with any drink you fancy…

for dinner…this is just one meal :) second comes after…

  1. some soup…anyone you like
  2. salad..any is fine with some dressing on the side
  3. steak/chicken/turkey/fish(anything you like is fine, just make sure its like 200grams of it) with either white rice/a baked potatoe/any form of vegi’s (sauteed mushrooms, sauteed green string beans, sauteed asparagus, or anything you like…) wash it down with your fav drink…

for dessert…either something sweet(pie, cake, ice cream, or some fruit salad)

alternate dinner

  1. appetizer/soup
  2. salad
  3. any pasta w/ chicken cutlets and any sauce on top…can be either an Alfredo sauce…or a Marinara sauce topped with mozzarella cheese wash down with what ever you like….
  4. end with dessert

the menu’s can vary as long as they are rich with carbs, protein & desserts!!!

guaranteed to gain 20lbs!!!

try that for a week or 2 give or take…you’ll put on a nice 20 lbs easy!

to lose it…that is a tough one…:(

have to do the opposite…stay away from carbs/only have 100grams of protein(pref turkey/chicken or fish) tons of green vegi’s 2 fruits per day(pref 1 granny smith apple a day and the other can be either a citrus fruit or 1/2 a banana…)fiber (like walnuts or almonds) lentils are good like the various beans plenty of water…no sugary substances…at least 15-30 mins of exercise per day while upping it from week to week.

lol, @Angie I know, me too this weekend I have been bad this whole month is a month of holidays meaning gatherings meaning yummy foods & even if you try to say no, i cant i am dieting just avoid eating things you know you shouldnt you simply cant! it’s you have to try a little of this &i made this & you gtta try a bit of this & just a bite of this…OMG if you measured all of that in 1 plate dear god…i guess we just have to limit ourselves! that is why the whole night i was skipping the dishes…they said try this I said yeah I did ty very good…cant down everything or wind up as huge as a house in one night just by tasting a fork of everything! one thing is for sure…after the holidays i have to go back on a strict diet…meaning rice cakes..soups…plenty of salads lots of water & hours on the treadmill :( (so much for all the work before the holiday!!) /cry (being sarcastic) :P

Try checking to see how fast your metabolism is. It might be really quick, so eat protein rich foods more. Eat more meat other than chicken, and try getting some protein water.

Also, your body works while you sleep, so eating a slow-digesting protein like casein can help you gain weight.

My sister has the same problem as I’m training her right now, so I make her eat only protein foods and she seems to be gaining a little weight.

I have a friend like this, and obviously you know how lucky you are to be able to eat what you like. But I know alot of people get accused of being anorexic or bulemic which is unfair. I did google how to put on weight and it just said alot about eating proteins for breakfast. You could go to your doctor and they will give you a diet plan for you to put on weight :)

hmm, well if you really want to you could go on a cleasnsing diet for 3 weeks & loose up to 10 lbs while eating healthy but eliminating almost everything you are used to eating at this present time…personally i dont like doing that but if you youtube 3 week cleansing I am sure you will find loads of 3 week diets where can loose up to 10 lbs the healthy way! take into consideration that in the first week you always loose water…but the other weeks after its much harder!
