Lifting your slapshot
I play in an inline hockey league but for some reason whenever I take a slap I can never get it airborne. any tips?

Inlining uses a ball I believe? Anyhow- in cricket, field hockey etc the control is applied thru the top or bottom hand- to keep the ball down one keeps a very tight grip on the top hand and just sweeps the bottom hand thru to apply a controlled drive- to lift the ball you swap the power hands so that the bottom hand is really powering through the ball while the top hand works as more of a pivot. To exagerate the effect try sliding your bottom hand further down the stick and even slipping a couple of fingers of your top hand off the stick altogether while you learn to make the diffference!
