Is this wrong?

The other day I read a story in the newspaper about a 60 year old chrisitan woman. All her life she had adopted children (I think it was over 600 in total) and she had recently bought a bigger house in the country with a horse to make their stay with her as fulfilling as possible.

The local council found out that one child in her care, a 16 year old muslim girl had converted to chrisitnaity, and so she was taken off the woman and the woman lost her license to adopt children.

but it was the girl’s choice, and from what I gathered she was happy with the woman, after being abused when she was with her own family.

I really don’t think it is fair that the woman is no longer able to adopt just because the girl decided to change faiths (the council blamed this on the woman as she was a christian). It’s almost as if even people who do good in life are turned against. what do you think?

I dont agree with u independentchick you are wrong England it not a christian country anymore, I should know I am from there. the people have all sorts of faiths and it was a long time ago since people were made to go to church. But even when they did go they didnt nesscary actually believe and it was mainly catholic faith in those days.

Well, that’s all it said in the paper. It sounds strange, but the council in England can be really weird sometimes. Oh on lol, she had looked after 600 children throughout her lifetime.

The Brittish government’s religious defamation laws have run amok (also in Oz).

There’s a reason the US Constitution forces our government to be blind to religion.

That’s still insane - I mean if she started when she was 20 - that’s still 25 children a year!

Answer #5

I really don’t think this is the whole story. I’m sure there is a lot more to it than what you are telling so it’s hard to judge if the decision was right. Although, a 60 year old taking care of 600 children? I dont think she should have been allowed to adopt that many children - there is no way that one person could care for and take care for thay many children.

Okay gabriella If you go back to the bible, you’d find out that Jesus told all his followers to travel over sees & to foriegn countries, to allow as many people as possible to find out about him, but keep in mind, that Jesus, NEVER EVER ordered people to believe, he never forced anyone, but he set a good example, & with his loving, caring, & forgiving attitude, people were fond of him & wanted to be more like him, resulting in wanting to be christians

Now, this old lady, must have some of his qualities, to actually WANT to take care of so many unfortunate children, & I am sure that this teenager, was not forced to be christianed, Is it possible to force someone to believe or love or pray? No, those are personal choices. The girl saw in the old lady her idol, & probably wanted to be like her =]

The council probably thought that 600 was a little bit too much for a 60 year old to handle, hehe, I believe that too! Its time for this lady to rest & let someone else take over =] & no the council had no right, after all England is a christian country, & the old lady was only following Jesus’s example =]

I hope that answers your Questions! <3

Stupid stuff like this, makes many people give up and quit trying. The goverment can be tyranical rather than serviing, according to who is in office. You never know that may have been someone from the girls former religion that brought this to pass, and It is just another form of persecution.

I find many times when someone comes against me in whatever way, it becomes an opportunity to pray for them, so, things may not always be what they seem. God can redeem any situation, and he can take what Satan means for evil and bring good out of it.

Father I pray for this situation, that your perfect will be done in this, you know all the details, and if this woman has been wronged, I pray that you will make it right, if misunderstandings came up I pray that they will be cleared up, and the truth come forth, I also pray that whoever is behind this be dealt with concerning this. And I thank you for hearing our prayers and for moving on behalf of those whom we pray for. Amen.

Here’s the article you’re talking about: http://www.cypnow.co.uk/news/879756/Foster-carer-struck-off-letting-Muslim-child-convert/

  • She was a foster carer, not an adoptive parent.
  • It was 80 children, not 600.
