I am a struggleing Christain..

This is my advice, I am going through the same thing I pray and I am not sure whether it is God talking to me or just my thoughts. I do find though that God has gave me signs through his creation, has guided me in my choices between right and wrong. I find also that I feel he is talking to me without words, like for example I am in Austria working as an au pair and I prayed a lot for God to lead to the right job for me as I was considering many different countries and I got down to three choices. I thought about the pros and cons, prayed intensely and then it came to me which one was right to choose. I believe that God speaks to me in this way, that I get feelings about things and what I should do with my life. The family I am working with here is so understanding, kind, caring and I am very happy. So I know that this where The Lord was leading me and to change my life around. As when I was home in England, my life was going nowhere, finding work was hard and I also didnt want to just rush into a job I knew I wouldnt love doing. I decided I wanted to do a job I love and that meant being patient and going to God for guidance and advice. So the best thing I can say is be patient, listen and always have faith, and he doesnt have to speak to you with words. It can be through signs, other people, his creation and experiences. So dont lose faith in him, He will help you if you seek him and be positive, he may be trying to talk to you somehow but you are taking the wrong approach. I hope this helped somehow

If you want a closer relationship with god get involved with a church group outside of church that helps with community projects or doing good for people.. you’ll be surprised how helping others through doing godly things can make you a more godly person and can ultimately bring you closer to god.. theres so many things that get in the way of god.. our lives are so hectic and fast moving that we lose touch with things.. there always voices and noise around us that disturb our minds… and get in the way of god’s voice.. a great way to get closer to god is meditation.. (if you have any questions about meditation just ask me.. I know it may seem like a odd concept but it’s great for the mind and spirit).. and dont fall into those who call themselves atheist most “atheist” are people who never gave god a real chance and who gave into the disbelief of others.. and who’s so called going against conformity is only turning them towards a conformity that will only disturb there minds and spirits.. and will leave them unfulfilled in this life and the next.. don’t give up on god.. and if you think what I said about atheist is only because I’m religious.. well your wrong because I use to be a atheist.. a strong disbelieving atheist who’s path changed very abruptly and ever since I’ve brought god into my life I’ve been a changed person and definately for the better.. stay strong and keep believing..

You don’t think it’s nice to tell people the truth - the very thing that deep down they know is true but don’t want to admit?

Truth is simply perception…what an individual sees and feels to BE the truth…Yours as well as any religious person. If someone hear doesn’t want to hear “your” perception, why push it down their throat??

I have to say this sounds so arrogant to me. The notion that we are so important that some higher being must be looking over us. I’m just at a loss for words really, bemused by this thread and how primitive humanity is.

hi in the name of jesus. I understand what are you talking about ,your question is very important and it was a debate in my church. God has many ways to talk to you,he can speak to you and you can hear his voice,but he may also speak to you in so many other ways: 1_through dreams 2_through your friends or relatives 3_through a stranger 4_through bible 5_through your pastor but the problem is in us, we dont listen or we listen but cant be sure if that is god or not that because or sensors our receiver system is not sensitive(up to date) what to do: 1-read in bible daily not because its amust but because you want to and you have a desire. 2_pray to god daily without thinking in anything but him 3_show others(friends and family) that you are a son of jesus by asking the question what would jesus do in any situation you got through or before any thing you want to do or say. 4_avoid sins NEVER GIVE UP AND BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL HEAR GOD”S VOICE. ASK FOR THE BAPTISIM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

God has a plan for all of us don’t worry just keep prayin it is not your time yet you will know when he is ready for you untill then just pray & share the gospel with everyone you come in contac with

umm no. I have actually never ever ever ever had that thought in my head before in my life. I believe what I want, and you believe what you want. I didnt start this question in order to fight with people that God IS or isnt real. I needed advice and I thank you to the people who have helped, God is working in my life as I speak, I close my eyes and I can see him now. But thank you for your opinion. In life you choose your own path, you do it because you want to, opportunities are there to be taken not to be distributed out by an old bloke who invented the universe…I had a teacher back in high school who passed away after my first there year and I will never forget what she used to aways say “Be the best that you can be” :)

jlvegas, praying and seeking guidance with God when your not down is the correct way to go…well done :) .. even though He is everywhere, He always has time to listen to His precious children :)

When He’s ready to communicate with you He will…Our Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways, we will never understand what He’s thinking but as long as you have faith and believe in God then that’s all that matters.

jlvegas - It’s tough being an atheist isn’t it? Because you have to think for and rely on yourself! From my point of view you sound a bit mad, you cry yourself to sleep because your imaginary friend wont talk to you? This may sound harsh, but it’s part of being a sentient human being. Thinking for yourself, finding your own path. Dump the fairy tales and get real. And this applies to all of you.

If you want God to talk to you, you need to listen. He knows what you want so you dont have to beg him for it. Just sitback and payatention to the small details and in nature. God dosent talk directly to you like in a voice, but he gives you signs that is you need to be paying attention for. It comes when you least expect it and in the last place you would think.

u have to be patient and wait till the time is right, trust me, hell eventually tell you whut to do
