twins are produced a couple of ways. first the female could drop more than one egg into the ovary after she has her period. second, there could only be one egg and when the sperm fertilizes it, it splits into two. and just for bonus info…the egg that splits into two will more than likly be identical. the two eggs will most likely not be identical …but you never know hope this answered your question :)
