What are some home-made dog foods I can feed my puppy for nutrients?

Nutritional puppy food is very, very expensive where I live ($200+NZD a bag that will last him 2 weeks) which we cannot afford. Our puppy is very healthy and eats normal dog food but I wish I could give him the best food I can because he is going to be a very big dog and I want him to grow into the best body possible. I know there are ways to cook for your dog that will be good for him but I don’t exactly know how. I cook him dinner when we eat dinner, I just make him a very simple version of what we are having that will be good for him like rice and vegetables and meat when Zac cooks it. Has anyone got any advice on what I could feed him that will give him the nutrients he needs, being a fast growing big energetic dog? PS adding a pic of him just because he’s sooo coooot lol

Introduce your dog to raw meats. Its probably the best thing you can do for him/her.

“But Ericson, won’t raw meat hurt my dog??!!!!???” No. Dogs are designed to eat raw meat. That’s what the do in the wild. Cooked food of any kind is inherently bad for dogs.

“What about salmonella, etc?” Dogs can handle it. Remember, by default, raw meat has salmonella.

I’ve been feeding my dog raw mean since she was around 8 months old. She’s almost 4 years old now. She’s lean, smart and like a bullet in the dog park. All muscle. No fat. No lazy dog.

Things I feed my dog:

  1. Chicken necks, gizzards and hearts
  2. Beef hearts
  3. Different kind of bones with the meat on them
  4. Smoked turkey as a treat
