Why wont the mother dog feed her puppies anymore?

Well my mother dog has 5 puppies and they are 3-4 weeks and she stopped feeding them I made her a nice bed and she has a nice room but when I put her in the room she just walks around she does not feed them she feeds them once in a while.she sleeps in the rooms with the puppies.

Someone told me to feed the goat milk but I can not find it in stores so I need !!!help!!!.

Both of those users are giving you incorrect advice, in my opinion.

Don’t use cat milk, as it’s formulated especially for cats, who have different dietary needs than dogs (ex. cats NEED differing levels of protein than dogs). Milk for kittens has special immunity-building hormones in it, for cat illnesses – not dogs.

Don’t use cow’s milk. I don’t care how many animals mightyvenus1 claims to have – cows milk is not entirely digestible to dogs, and will most likely give them the runs. Also, cow’s milk does not contain substitute dog mommy hormones in it that the puppies need to fend off disease. Puppy milk does contain these hormones that the dogs would be getting from their mom.

So the answer here is puppy formula. Buy it and use it. I suggest Esbilac brand, I’ll attach a photo here. For their age, you’ll want to use “2nd step” or “weaning formula”.

Mix the formula with warm water, usually 3 to 1 water (but follow the instructions on the formula). The puppies are old enough to use a nursing bottle, so pick one of those up too. Both can be bought at Petco, Pet Supermarket, etc.

The best thing for puppies is puppy formula

Answer #3

So why tell someone else, to use cow’s milk, if you don’t know their financial situation and they might be able to afford the puppy milk? The incorrect advice of giving cow’s milk could really hurt those puppies – especially knowing that it did give your dogs diarrhea. Please think before giving advice that could hurt someone.

Answer #4

well I couldnt afford fancy dog formula so I used cows milk and it did give them the runs but they survived

Answer #5

just feed them regular cow milk you dont have to have some kind of special milk I have 11 cats an 7 dogs I know what I talking about…and katlynrocks cmon cat milk who the heck told you that

Answer #6

She quite feeding them because they have little needle teeth, and it hurts. Just soak puppy chow in warm water until it is soft and feed them. Cow’s milk is very hard to digest, and you’ll probably end up with a ot puppy poop to clean up..runny puppy poop…and they really don’t need replacement milk, if you soak puppy chow.
