Why diet and exercise when life is too short?
Life’s too short so why diet and exercise?
The question seems to me to be an illogical syllogism where the premises and the conclusion do not appear to be related. Turned around it would say, life is short so why bother exercising… Well why not just say, why bother doing anything. It’s more like a cynical attitude towards exercise and diet and also life being short, depending also on what his definition is of “short”. According to his birth date, he has only lived about half of his lifetime and if I was his age I’d think I had a lot of life ahead of me. Mine is much shorter but I still exercise and diet, relatively speaking. You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it. (Matthew 6:27) So don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34)
Because you’ll make your life even shorter. And feel better about yourself, for being healthy, you wont have to always be the one slowing everyone else down and then feel bad about it. You can live longer to be with your family and the ones you love.
Diet and exercise can give you better quality of life. I’d rather eat a well balanced diet and get a bit of exercise each day if it means a few more days playing with my grandkids in the future. Life may be short, but I’m going to make sure I have as much of it to enjoy as I can.
What lex_icon said. I don’t think it is necessary to diet to the point where you no longer enjoy eating or exercise until you are miserable. Ideally you can have a good ballance where you enjoy hearty tasty meals that are healthy and you do some sort of exercise you actually enjoy.
I’ve been exercising since new years and while I haven’t seen big results on the scales I do feel quite a bit better. I have to get up an hour and a half earlier on the days I work out but to tell the truth I have more energy at the end of my day than I did when I used to sleep later.
I work out and eat healthy so I’ll get more out of life, not to deprive myself.
Study the pro’s and con’s - your choice.
