is being a hair cutter hard?

Answer #1

if you’re tough and can deal with criticism…go for it. but if you do one tiny thing wrong, they’ll definitely tell you and won’t hold back. cause its their hair you know?but if it’s something you’re really interested in, don’t let anything hold you back! you’d get a lot of practice at college (like learning techniques, cutting dolls hair, etc) and if youre serious enough about it, you’ll be okay. =)

Answer #2

You can do anything with enough practice. You actually have to be licensed to cut people’s hair and you have to pass some kind of state exam to get this license. So if you want to cut hair then by all means you should go for it. I do not however recomend you go to college for it. Many states have programs where you can apprentice under a certified hair cutter or stylist for a few months, or you could find one of the many available free training programs that are offered by organizations such as skillsUSA, Americorps, etc. This way you still get the training and certification you need, but you’ll get it for free instead of building up thousands of dollars in debt in student loans to do what it is that you want to do.

Answer #3

The concept of cutting hair is not hard. It is all about the technique and who’s hair you are cutting. Everyone is their own worst critic so no matter how good you are, you will always have occasional people who complain, just like in any other career. The only problem is depending on where you are, alot of places do not pay well so make sure it is really what you want to do because as long as you like it the money does not matter. If you work hard enough at it though, you can go far.

Answer #4

Take the plunge if it’s what you are really interested in- no one is perfect on day 1…

Answer #5

Well thats why your going to school for it, so you can get better on it and learn how to do it, plus when your in a school for that they dont let you practice on real people, so you can mess up and do it till you get it right. Also they wont put you to cut people’s hair if they think your not ready yet, they are going to give you time.

Answer #6

Any occupation can be hard if you don’t have any training. You’ll be getting trained when you got to college, though. They will give you the skills required to do the job well. If this is something you love, don’t let fear hold you back.
