Should I take my dog to the vet if he keeps eating grass and throwing up?

Every morning my dog is so excited to go outside and eat the grass so he can throw up. Is this bad? I’m not sure what I should do about him ):

Answer #1

He is excited? Hmm maybe yes u should take him to the vet.. I don’t have a dog but I think that’s weird.. Maybe it’s something in his diet that doesn’t do very well with his stomach?

Answer #2

It’s very common for a dog to eat strange things, you should take him to the vet if he is doing it frequently like that, don’t be too stressed about it I am sure he will be fine he probably just needs something different in his diet. :]

Answer #3

I agree with lily and Aditi…. Don’t be too stressed about it… He’ll probably be fine, but u could take him to the vet just to make sure nothing is wrong with him :)

Answer #4

hope ur dog feels better

Answer #5

dogs eat grass to help them digest so i’m guessing that its probably just trying to clean out its tummy but you should take your dog for a check up anyway just in case.

Answer #6

Dogs usually eat grass to help them digest, but I’ve never seen one throw up from eating grass. If he can’t keep anything down, go to a vet.

Answer #7

take him to the vets its better to do it sooner than later :) its proberly nothing but you wanna make sure

Answer #8

From what I’ve been told by my dog’s vet, usually the reason dogs eat grass is to induce vomiting. There’s something in the grass that causes them to throw up. If your dog is doing this, there was probably something upsetting their stomach beforehand and they were trying to get it out, so they ate the grass to throw it all up. I would take your dog to the vet, just to be safe.

Answer #9

My dogs have been doing that for years & they are completely fine, so I don’t think so unless shes showing other symptoms.

Answer #10

he will be fine it is what dogs do to induce vomiting he ate something that upset his stomach, make sure he is not getting anything other than dog food for bit and see if that helps.
