Should I take my dog in labor to the vet?

My dog has been having contraction’s since she woke up in the morning…but still …she hasnn’t delivered any puppies…what’s wrong with her? Should I be worried about this? Should I take her to the vet???

Answer #1

It is better to call your Vet in a False Alarm than to chance a problem and lose a pup or your dog. So if you really think your dog is having contractions this long call the Emergency Vet.

Answer #2

Are you sure your dog is due and that she is having contractions? Have you taken her temp. Has she stopped eating, is she digging at the box or blankets. Her temp is taken rectal with you can use a store human digital thermometer.

8 to 12 hours before delivery her rectal temperature drops from a normal 101 to 99 degrees F or below.

Answer #3

Yes I would say Go to the vet, we cannot see her symptoms to give you a proper safe answer.
