Does this technique put me at a risk?

I’m a 14 yr. old male. I’m a small frame and I’ve started working out with dumbbells. I use 20 pound dumbbells to workout my shoulders. I, during my workout grab my dumbbell in one hand and than I bend a little and place my hand on a chair. I bend a little towards the chair on the bottom with my hand placed firmly on the chair and I lift my dumbbell with my other hand. Does this technique put me at a risk of stunting my height growth? Or does it harm my back anyway?

Find out what body type you have, either Mesomorph, Endomorph or Ectomorph. Check out the mixes of these builds to Ex. Meso-ectomorph. There are many workouts that will be very effective for you and some that don’t make the cut, but by doing this your taking out a lot of the guess work.

it could affect your growth and back if you lift way too much, but 20 isn’t so bad. keep it low for now and when you get at least 16 or 17 then it would be a good idea to lift more weights if you want to be really well built. hope that helped.
