do you have any advice

I used to be 164 and now im down to 155 my goal is to lose 20 more pounds. I go to the beach almost every morning w a friend she really push me to work harder plus there are a lot of people working out there ..my thing is im from the island and I love eating rice does anyone has any tips on how to stop because I feel like I put on weight everytime I eat it…I dont know if this is healthy but I eat two bananas for breakfast every morning ..tuna salad for lunch and fruits for dinner

First you need to do some basic math…

1 pound = 3500 calories.

Therefore 20 lbs = 70,000 calories

Next, be aware that you should not eat less than 1200 calories a day. 1200 cals is what is needed to keep your body functioning correctly (heart, lungs, liver, etc)

So 1200 cals/day X 30 days = 36,000 calories eaten per month

Now… knowing you need to LOSE 70,000 calories, and CONSUME 36,000 calories, you can deduce that you need to EXPEND 106,000 (70,000 + 36,000) calories a month.

Divide 106,000 by the number of days you want it to take for you to lose that 20 lbs.

For example:

106,000 by 60 days = 1766.666

Next find your Basal Metabolic Rate - there are plenty of calculators out there that will help you do this. Your BMR is the amount of calories your body burns each day to sustain itself.

Let’s assume your BMR is 1500 calories.

Knowing you need to burn 1766 cals/day, and your body naturally burns 1500 cals/ day, you will need to expend an additional 266 calories per day through exercise!

Of course your BMR will fluctuate day to day… so this isnt an exact science, but it is something to go by.

Also, assume that in the beginning you will lose water weight, which has nothing to do with calories.

Remember too, if you drop below 1200 calories/day, your body is likely to go into starvation mode, which will cause your BMR to drop - thus making you expend more calories than you’re cutting… cruel punishment, I know!

Also since you’re going through all this heard work… make sure you make the 1200 calories you are eating healthy choices.

u can try brown rice its suppose to b healthy and just keep doing your daily excercise if its working out for you and you think you can continue to stick wit it then go for it

Its really good actually to eat those healthy cereals, or even cinnamon oatmeal maybe taste like a desert?xD im from the islands too! I love rice and beans.. try to eat a lot of snacks during the day, because it speed up the motabilism and causes you to lose weight.

Keep doing what you’re doing at the moment. If you’re losing weight then its working. And enjoy your rice, your losing weight anyway so dont worry about it.

Rice is good for you…it’s filling. Try eating the brown rice instead of white rice though. :)
