Do people in mainland China really eat dogs?

Our repulsion to eating horse, dog, and cat is cultural.

PIgs are more intelligent than dogs yet almost everyone eats pork. When my dad fought in the Korean war he was served meat that he didn’t learn until after the meal was dog. At that point he hadn’t had any meat in quite a while and found it quite good.

Horse meat is quite popular in France.

If your argument is, “it’s cultural,” with regard to eating dogs, then you are a sheep. Just because it part of a culture doesn’t mean you have to except it. If I preform a female circumcision on my daughter, would you just shrug and be fine with it because “it’s culture.” Stand up for your beliefs and stop worrying about being politically correct. If you eat dog, you are telling the world that you’re sick.

Unfortunetly yea they do… my college World history teacher went on a trip to china and came back with some pretty grusome pictures of skined saint bernards hanging in butcher shop windows. sad but ur bf was right.

gurl they eat anything…dog, cats, snakes, rats….its part of there diet to eat those things ….like eskimos they eat raw seal and whale

Unfortunately, in some areas, yes. It is considered gross here, but it is different in those areas.

Let me tell you something, I am a Chinese, some of us do eat dogs and cats(less). But let me show you something, it’s a joke, hopefully. “Q: Do Chinese eat dogs? A: Yes. We eat a lot of dogs. And cats,too. Especially on your “Thanks giving” day. Besides, turkeys are our favorite pets. We regard turkeys as human’s best friends. In China only the most uneducated eat turkeys. “ I hope you can learn something from it.
