Do Jews believe in Jesus?

do jews beleive in jesus? will they go to heaven according to christian teaching?

Answer #1

Hi, I am not here to bash nor disrespect any religion. I have a question. JEWS do not accept Jesus as their Saviour, mainly because he did not fulfill the prophecies, in the lifetime he was sposed to. One of these prophecies made from God to Moses(PEACE) was that the Messiah would deliver the Jews back to the Holy Land, but he didnt do it then. But now, hundreds of years later, the Jews are returning to Israel as they please, and according to Daniel in the Bible, the country would soon be released from Islamic control. Then why is it that they believe Jesus did not fulfill this prophecy?isnt it coming through now? If a Jewish person could please answer me, I am thinking of converting to either Christianity or Judaism, and I would like to know which seems to be accurate.

Answer #2

Some do. They are called Messianic Jews. Most Jews however believe that the Messiah has not come yet. They adhere to the teachings of the Old Testament, The Torah, The Talmud. Jews that do profess that Christ has come in the flesh, died and rose again for them personally will be on their way to heaven.

Answer #3

ANY person that accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is Heaven-bound !

Answer #4

according to jewish teachings the christians will not go to the jews heaven but they will go to their own heaven. their are some jews who belive in jesus, personally I don’t, but the reason for this is because jesus was a jewish man.

Answer #5

thank you pipet, that is what I have been trying to explain to howkensea.

Answer #6

amoeba…here is a site that lists a BUNCH of them!

Answer #7

according to jewish teachings the christians will not go to the jews heaven but they will go to their own heaven. their are some jews who belive in jesus, personally I don’t, but the reason for this is because jesus was a jewish man.

Answer #8

Jews are still waiting for their messiah. but they are under the Abrahamic covenant and God honors all his covenants. the jews see jesus as a man only and not the messiah.

Answer #9

Most have never given it any serious consideration. They tend to assume such a man existed, but that he was either delusional or a charlatan.

Answer #10

Yes, they do. They do not believe he is the son of God. I do not believe in the Jewish Salvation thing, because, in my opinion, if someone believes in God, and is a good, moral person, they will go to heaven.

Answer #11

I am Jewish, and I believe that I am going to Heaven. God is the judge of that, just because you believe in God doesn’t promise you a ticket straight into Heaven.

Answer #12

jews arent aloud to beleive in jesus as a g-d.

Answer #13

If you do not believe in the Savior(Jesus) that came to die for you, you will not be going to Heaven. If Jews do not accept Jesus, they will be going to Hell. If they accept Him, they might go to Heaven. As long as they have a relationship with him.

Answer #14

jews believe there is a jesus but he just hasn’t come yet and ther are christian jews where well it is hard to explain.Christians:believe Jesus has already come and worship him Jewish:believe jesus hasn’t come but willl soon and worship him

take it from some one who knows

Answer #15

my family is jewish. most jews and christians do not consider messianic judaism to be a form of judaism, but a form of christianity. the torah is part of the tanakh (the jewish bible) and is the first five books of the old testament and the talmud is a record of rabbinic discussions pertaining to Jewish law, ethics, customs, and history. some messianic believers call rabbinic commentaries such as the talmud “dangerous”. jewish theology rejects the idea that the messiah is a divinity; such an idea has often been regarded as idolatrous. judaism doesn’t view the role of the messiah to be the salvation of the world from its sins (a christian idea widely accepted by messianic jews).

judaism does not accept jesus as the biblical messiah, nor does it give him any religious role at all.

Answer #16

Jews do not believe Jesus is the messiah. and they are not going to hell. they are still the apple of his eye and at the time he calls they will hear him and come to him. They are the chosen. christians are grafted in after the fact, as gentile believers. They also do not read the new testament so they don’t know half of what we speak of. There is a section of Jews who believe. they are Jews for Jesus, but they still have their own traditions and beliefs that Jesus proves and fulfills. and utmost We are not the judge and have no right to say who goes to hell and who doesn’t that is exclusive to God.

Answer #17

thanks. I went to the site and read the parts that related to the torah, which you mentioned. though it refers to a messiah, it does not refer to jesus christ. that was the point I was making. you are responding in the context of a messianic jew, who acknowledges that jesus is the messiah. not a traditional jew who does not accept jesus as the biblical messiah, nor does it give him any religious role at all. do not confuse a messianic jew with a traditional jew. A jew does NOT believe that jesus was the son of god or that jesus was the messiah. I respect your beliefs but you are confused regarding judaism.

Answer #18

As I understand it most Jews view Jesus as a prophet but not as the son of God.

As far as what Christianity teaches about Jewish salvation I know it varies by sect. The church I grew up in (Presbyterian) taught that Jews had their own covenant with God the predates Jesus and that if they faithfully follow their religion they will be saved. I’ve heard other Christains say that Jews will have the opportunity to accept Jesus and be saved. Yet others I talk to say that 144,000 Jews will be saved but all others are SOL.

Answer #19

Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6). The “no one” He referred to includes Jews and Gentiles. Jews are not saved because they are God’s chosen people, but because they believe in Jesus Christ as their true Messiah. There are many Messianic Jews who have accepted Yeshua (the Hebrew word for Jesus) as their Messiah.

Answer #20

It is like being pregnant…either you are going to heaven or you aren’t. And it has NOTHING to do with how good or how bad you are! That is a lie of Satan! Everybody has to have a reference of final authority. For Christians, it is the Bible, for Jews, it is the Torah, which includes many of the Old Testament writings. Both have references to Jesus Christ as the Messiah, and the Savior of mankind. So if you believe either of them, you have to believe that Jesus Christ was sent to this earth as a sacrifice for mankind. If you study the Old Testament, you will find how Abraham was ready to offer up his only son, Isaac, until God intervened. The ark of Noah was symbolic of Jesus Christ. God had Noah build the ark, but only those who believed what God said would go in the ark. Then GOD closed the door, not Noah! One day God will close the door here as well, and there will be no more opportunity to believe on Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! It will be too late! Don’t listen to people…study the Bible! It has the truth in it!
