Did Jesus eat meat or was he a vegetarian?

I am still convinced that Jesus was a woman but not to argue that right now, did jesus eat meat or was he/she a vegetarian? Was it a sin or something to eat meat and be the son of god/daughter of god?

Answer #1

well jesus existed but he aint no soon of god. he had no solid proof. but jesus was a person. he was a dude. just a lier. there is no god.

Answer #2

Yes Jesus ate meat! Lol.

He did however follow the dietary laws laid out in Deutoromony. He was a firm believer/follower of the Torah ( first five books of the bible).

I’m sure (I’m assuming XD) that he ate chicken, and beef, and lamb.

However, pork, lobster, shrimp, scavangers and such - he didn’t eat.

Look it up, it’s in there.

:)

Fish was a staple in the diet of the region, and there are many references to this in the bible…

and it is dangerous to try to make the scriptures say what they don’t say… many are doing that, but, it will be to their own peril…

It says what it means.. and means what it says…

Stick to it…or be led astray…

Blessings..

Answer #4

Well Jesus did eat meat. I’m not sure what he ate it at his home but what those whose houses he went to he ate what they served.

Answer #5

I’ts just that (as an agnostic), I tend not to take anything as gospel (pardon the pun), without thinking and researching it first from several sources.

One of my favourite dictums:

“The only certainties are uncertainties”

Answer #6

Whooaaaahhhhh!! No insult intended. I apologize. (Sorry for being an agnostic)

I just wanted to offer a non-belief based perspective on the matter based on my reading of both the bible, and also other literature on the subject.

Answer #7

In those days, meat was the primary means of nutrition. There’s a lot of talk about sheep, fish and other animals in the bible. More than likely he ate meat.

One thing though… There’s a lot of talk about fasting as well.

Answer #8

Jesus certainly ate meat..there are records of him eating lamb and fish..ofcourse He was a man..otherwise He would have been called the daughter of God..

Answer #9

Jesus was Jewish and the Jewish don’t eat pigs but otherwise I don’t see why not

Answer #10

There isn’t significant evidence of jesus being or not being a vegetarian. He did eat fish in the Bible though on a few occassions. http://www.jesusveg.com/5.html

And about the whole Jesus was a woman thing… Jesus was a historical figure and was a man. (I’m athiest… so that’s pretty much all I recognize him as.)

Answer #11

I certainly accept your apology….it would have been helpful if you had indicated ‘ I am an agnostic’ in your answer….you see your answer carries the label “ADVISOR”….you do say above ‘no insult intended’ but what is (your words) “amblessed…without thinking”

God Bless You !!

Answer #12

If you believe the Bible Adam and Eve were vegetarians. In early Genesis God tells Adam and Eve that they may eat every seed bearing plant and fruit. After the flood when Noah emerges from the arc God tells him that every creature of the earth is his to eat.

Answer #13

Thanks for the attempted insult, but that’s what the word of God says….He said it, I beleive it (God led man the words to write - divinely inspired)….He doesn’t make mistakes

Feel free anytime to belittle me for my belief in God’s word and the Lord Jesus Christ for He too was ridiculed….say and do as you will but someday you (as well as I) will stand before the Judgement Seat of God….you have every right to ridicule me (for I am not perfect - far from) and the choice to either accept or reject Jesus Christ….there’s no ‘riding the fence’

Answer #14

Jesus a woman ?

Here’s what the Bible says: John 3:16 (King James Version) King James Version (KJV) Public Domain

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If you don’t beleive it, obviously you either 1) don’t beleive the Bible is the word of God….or….2) you’re calling God a liar

What part of “HIM” is not understandable ?

Answer #15

There’s at least one example of Him eating fish. He also hung around a couple fisherman, and lived near water where fish was a major food source. It is also quite clearly ok for Christians to eat meat based on other passages. I mean, why wouldn’t Jesus eat meat?

Answer #16

But Jesus is a man…

Answer #17

There is scripture about him eating fish but it’s only IMPLIED that he ate other meat due to what must be included in the Passover meal. Amblessed, I’ve got to say, you are a bit condescending. You are all “Peace, love and God…blessings” until someone doesn’t believe what you believe. People who are sure in their belief don’t feel the need to make someone else feel bad about their own in order to make their beliefs seem more valid. Jesus didn’t do it according to the bible. And why should the commenter have to explain to you that he was agnostic? And “I accept your apology?” Where is YOUR apology for jumping the gun and belittling. And just so you know, saying “God Bless you” to someone who is agnostic is like saying “Heil Hitler” to a Jew. Just rude. Have a little respect for other people’s beliefs. Just because they aren’t the same as yours doesn’t mean the other person isn’t a good person deserving of a little “benefit of the doubt.” Anyway…

Answer #18

While AmBlessed takes it literally without thinking, I have another take.

If you think about it, in those days, women were more like property. So chances are, it was a man. Even it it were a women, because of the paternalistic nature of the church, it would have been changed in the texts to be a man.

Answer #19

I’ld imagine he’ld eat whatever he was provided with. He was a nomad, him & his trvalers & lived off nothing more than the sheer kindness & generosity of people so I doubt he was a picky eater.
