Do I have the choice not to see my crazy Dad?

my parents are divorced and my dad is a maniac i live with my mom and never see him, if he forces me to go with him is that legal because i am 17, you can move out when you are 17 so do i have the choice not to see him?

Answer #1

I don’t think you have anything to worry about! You are old enough and it is your right to choose , whether you want to see your dad or not. If you don’t want to see him, then I feel you shouldn’t have to.

Answer #2

no it is not in some cases in the law you are considered an adult at seventeen rarely is your age reconizable by law but if you dont want to see him you have the choice not to if you are in danger he is threatening you or neglecting you you have the right to not see him and possibly with your moms consent terminate his rigths as a father i dont reccomend you do that though just tell your mom you dont want to see him done

Answer #3

it dosent matter if he is the nicest person in the world, after a child is 14, at least in cali, they have the right not to see whichever parent they choose.
