How to connect my laptop to my television?

I want to watch a television show that I missed on my laptop, but I want to connect to my telvision.

Does anyone know how to do this

Answer #1

If your TV is a LCD, look on the back for a pc input. Should be VGA and you will also need an audio adapter for headphone out to left right audio in.

I have seen some dell laptops with HDMI outputs.

One needs to insert a TV output cable into their anus with a headphone jack crammed into their pee hole(male or female makes no difference). Step two is to defecate into a bowl, cover it with corn flakes and set in a moist arid environment for 23-25 days. After the headphone input has badly infected the pee hole smear the month old poop mixture on the genital wound. You should be watching netfix on your TV in no time.

Instructions Difficulty: Moderately Challenging Steps 1 Step OneMakes sure the television has the proper connections. Some older televisions are not equipped with the connections necessary to connect the laptop to the television. An S-video connection is the most common means of connection. (See resources for S-video cable examples)

2 Step TwoCheck the laptop to make sure there is a video capable of connecting to the television. Not all laptops come equipped with a TV-out video card. Another option is installing Mpeg decoder card if laptop has no connectors. (See resources for M-peg decoder cards). The drawback of the Mpeg card is that it does not play Divx or .mov files.

3 Step ThreeObtain the correct cable to connect the PC laptop and the television. S-video cables are the most common cable and the easiest to connect. VGA is another cable option. VGA is a regular monitor cable that connects the two. This option is only available for HDTVs.

4 Step FourConnect the laptop to the television. Make certain that both the TV and laptop are off before making the connection. When turning the television on make sure that the appropriate video mode is activated. For instance, if an S-video cable is used set the video option on the television to S-video. On the laptop set the video output to the correct source. Please consult the owner’s manual, because steps for changing the setting vary for each laptop model.

Tips & Warnings If the television is missing the necessary connection, check the DVD player for the connection and connect through the DVD.

to magda, you need to take the movie or program and drag it outside of your desktop on your computer. Usually to the right and you should see it in your tv. Its supposed to act at 2 desktops and they continue one after the other.

I don’t know what kind of setting do I need to in Laptop. would you please

Answer #10

If your laptop has an HDMI port and so does your TV, if its a HD tv it will, then you just buy a hdmi cord and plug them together. And switch the channel like you would for a DVD or Gaming System.

Answer #11

it almost sounds like you have the computer set for dual monitors.(The extend this desktop on this monitor icon checked) Most laptops use a function key to switch to a external monitor…EG the one im on is (FN+F5) that could differ on your computer. Make sure under you display settings that that option is off and try to find that key. Til then I’ll look up your model and see if I cant figure it out

Hi,

What is the model of laptop?

If it has an S-Video port, you need to get an S-Video cable. Hook one end into the S-Video port and another end into a composite cable. Then plug the composite cable into the TV based on its color (red into red, yellow into yellow, white into white). Put the other yellow end into your computer’s microphone port. Then close the lid and open it again to reset the computer monitor. It should work.

Connecting my TV to my laptop. I have an Acer computer and purchased EFORCITY Premium VGA to RCA Component Cable M / M, 12 ft (3.66m) Black. When we connect through the DVD player, we get nothing, as it has the red, white and yellow connections, but when we connect through the tv, we get a picture, but it’s very fuzzy and it’s showing 4 columns of what is on my laptop as far as I can tell. Since the cable has green, red, blue, we and the tv has yellow, white, red, we tried every combination and still got the same result. I’m not sure what I need to do, but I’m pretty sure I need to do something to the settings in my laptop. I hope someone can help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks
