What can help a child who has chicken pox?

My four year old brother has chicken pox and their starting to irritate him. He has some on his bits and make it a bit painful when he pees. Is their something we can do for him? The doctor gave us the camomile lotion but that hasn’t helped it much and we’ve also tried Sudocrem. Thank you.

When i had it as a kid…i remember my mum tellin me not to scrath it…so i found that tapping it gentley with fingers like a little slap works as good as scrathing at releaving the itch.

Some things you might try: calamine lotion/cool,wet compresses/a bath in oatmeal/keep fingernails trimmed/acetaminophen/soft foods, acidic juices, etc……hope he’s better soon…..

My kids were about that age when they had chicken pox and I found it helped to make them direct focus outwardly. I gave them a picture of a chicken on cardboard, and whenever they had an itch, they would scratch the chicken. You’d be surprised at how effective it was.
