how do i calm my baby down when he is so cranky and wont stop crying ????

Answer #1

Just hold him close & rock him slowly, sing to him, put him down & play some soft music, feed him, change him, burp him.

Answer #2

If he’s crying, there’s a reason. Make sure he’s fed and his diaper is dry. He could be tired, he could be gassy, he could be teething (you don’t tell us how old he is). Taking care of a baby requires patience and the ability to “deal with it”. Welcome to motherhood - it doesn’t get any easier.

Answer #3

Agreed with Colleen. How old is it? He could be teething or have cramps. In that case getting him some colic drops or teething powder might help.

Answer #4

Answer #5

Answer #6

thank you (: and yes patience is needed and alot

Answer #7

Definitely a possibility, we’ve had children come it that started teething even younger than that. If he is dry, fed and warm and still cranky and moody, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Answer #8

hold him AND ROCK HIM

I agree as well…babies always cry for a reason…now when you add cranky & fidgety its either teething, gas or diaper change! i would start by the back…with his chest on yours patting his back up & down or in a circular motion, if it is gas, he will burp & that will help! If it is teething, he will keep on biting on his hands, try one of those baby plastic round thingies you put in the freezer that will so help ease the pain til you can get some children orajel (or what ever is on the market to help sooth teething pain…) of course always check diapers for any surprises…:)

If he is still cranky & screaming try to check his temperature..if it is high, and i mean over 100 quickly get towel wet it in water & wrap him in it…if it doesnt bring down the fever there must be some baby aspirin or tylonol or smth you normaly give kids(wow, havnt been in the baby business for a while so I am not up to date with what is out on the market sorry! :()

Still doesnt stop crying…try feeding him…(btw are you b.feeding him, if so maybe the amount is just not enough. Is he throwing up? if so maybe its not sitting well with his stomach!)

If it is formula out of a bottle, might be irritating his stomach but then again he will experience diarrhea, (then again if that is an issue it may be accompanied with fever & teething…) hard to figure out…

there are a number of reasons I can think of like perhaps maybe an ear infection as well…god forbid…I remember I had really bad issues with my ears, they were so sensitive…so watch for his hands & see if it’s pointing to somewhere in particular like ears, nose or eyes…

hope that helped even a little…

if it consists for over a few hours call the doc asap! you dont want your child suffering! Better the doc say nothing is wrong then tell ya something is…for your peace of mind & the baby’s!

good luck hope he feels better!
