What are these bumps on my dogs back?

My dog got a small tumor like bump on her back a while ago and they have increased in number. there are about 4 or 5 of them on her body and the main one is bigger and she seemed to break it open by irritating it so much. Could these be cancerous tumors or just abscesses. Also she has recently been limping, she started right around the time her oldest bump got bigger. she is a husky lab mix and she is 10 years old. Very active, likes to talk back and does not seem 10. she has been the same since we first got her.

pointers and weimerainers are two types of dogs that these bumps are most common on. They are called Lipomas (fatty tumors). It is really rare for them to be cancerous, but if you are concerned, take him/her to the vet and have them assessed. They can be removed by inserting a small needle in to drain the fatty tissue and fluid.

Thank you, i looked these Lipomas up on google, and they look similar to that in size, but, they arent hairless so you have to kinda move the hair out of the way to actually see them. They dont seem sensitive either, whenever i pet her and accidentally touch the bumps she doesnt care.

My dog got these on her tail, she’s quite old but the vet decided to remove them. But they kept coming back, so he had to amputate her tail to save her from having so many more opporations. I hope your dog doesn’t have to have any surgery because of them. Our vet said that they are usually fine, and don’t grow too much,, but I think the lipomas my dog had were cancerous. Which is why they kept coming back. :/ Should be fine though.

Answer #4

Uh oh. I hope thats not the case with my dog, what would they do, they cant amputate her back.

Answer #5

My dog is quite small, and there wasn’t much skin on her tail to go around if they keept removing the sists. Also, she;s quite old and we didn’t want to keep putting her through operations that weren’t necisary. I suspect that they’ll remove them if they get really bad, but the chances are that you’re dog wont be affected by them, and they wont need to be removed.

Answer #6

I’m assuming that the ones on google are bald because they are shaved to show you what they look like.
