Who knows of any laws for me to get my dog back?
oky well my “father” baught me a dog for christmas but last year we stoppe talking so he kept my dog, she is MY baby and she was MY christmas gift I dont ever see her andi dont have any of her papers but are there any laws or legal things for me to get my dog back? im only 13 so I dont know much about this but eben my moms looking because there divorced but she cant find anything this would be amazing help and I would really really appreciat it =] thx
hannah4965 does not know what she is talking about. A dog is property and if he gave it to you the dog is yours legally and he can’t legally take it back. Any attorney could help you but you would probably need money for that. You might see if there is a Legal Aid group in your area that might help you. You could also check out to see if your local county court has “small claims” court where people go without lawyers. Often they have forms for that sort of thing. Good luck.

Sorry, 13 year olds can’t ‘own’ property. Your mother could sue for the return of your dog…but not you.
