Are people put on Earth just to set examples?

(An example from an Islamic point of view)

We believe that no one knows when death can occur. As being a muslim, we believe that we should think about death and the after life everyday so we can be better people and avoid committing sins; we also believe that when one has a neardeath experience it’s a sign from Allah to change their ways.

In addition there were people who were put on earth to set examples like the prophets Isa (Jesus) (AS) Muhmmad (PBUH) and many more. They were chosen as the messengers of Allah to guide manking to the divine path.

I am a Christian, but, I am in agreement with Alesha. I believe that when someone is allowed to have a supernatural experience, that it is exactly what she said, allowed to turn someone from the path that they were on, and because of the reality of it, I believe that it is so convincing that they will be able to make a big impact upon the ones that their lives cross paths with.. A man with an experience is no match for a man with an arguement. I would be very curious, nin… to hear how this has affected you, and has it or is it bringing any change to you?

I do not believe that God uses people that way. God loves us, and wants to see us become the best we can. God will not use us for an example, just as Jesus consistently refused to heal anybody just as a test to prove he was God. Jesus only healed when the person needed it, for her or his own good.
