How many adult on FunAdvice feel the computer has destroyed a few relationships since it became affordable in the 90's?

I feel that the computer combined with the internet and all the stuff it can do, can also ostracize your spouse. I know myself I work on a computer all the time, but I need more control when to put it aside, and put focus on the mother of my children.

Answer #1

I think it has cuz it can consume ur life and its easy to get addicted to so ur other relationships suffer b cuz of it

Answer #2

I think that computers have made it easier for people to stray from a relationship and have offered more temptation - but in the end you cant blame the computers for peoples actions. They have also provided people with more things to do and have led too people spending more time in front of them, but again, the blame falls on the people who let the computer come first…not the computer itself. The problem is people not having self control or remembering what should come first in life.

Answer #3

You could blame WoW.

Answer #4

How can you blame wow?

Answer #5

World of Warcraft is a game that has literally consumed some people’s lives and destroyed relationships. people make World of Warcraft forums in order to pay for their food and subscription and just stay in from of the online video game for hours upon hours. Im not saying it is bad for anyone who plays Wow, but it has destroyed many relationships.

Answer #6

Yes the blame lies on the end user that does not have the willpower to put the computer down. I did not even think of it as a tool for cheating, but yes I guess this could be very common. I found that my problem is there is a wealth of information on the computer, and I will look up one thing, I want to know more on, then find myself in a whirlwind of other things I would like to look at.

Answer #7

Ok I did not know what this was, but I have heard of it not only separating couples, but also child service removing children cause of negligent due to online games. I did try playing cafeworld once, I do not know if this counts, but I quit soon after I felt it was becoming a daily addiction.

Answer #8

I don’t direct blame on technology or the internet, I think it has largely to do with bad decision making. Everyone can use these gadgets without it affecting their life with their significant other.. we have to decide when ‘enough’ is really enough.

Answer #9

ive lost partners cus of my pc but i dont care as long as ive still got my pc they can bugger off.

Answer #10

Probably, but the kind of people who would ruin their relationship via a computer would probably find some other way of doing that in the absence of such technology. I just find it a bit annoying that the only way I can contact many people now is through facebook. I hate facebook.
