Would adoption be okay for this situation?

I was talking to my cousins and this was brought up:

If a female under the age of 25,was raped and ended up pregnant, and gave birth because she didnt believe in abortion for any reason had a child. The mother had already suffered mental illnesses and has attempted suicide before, and is diagnosed as bipolar and depression, and knew that she wasnt emotionally stable to raise the child. Would it be wrong or not if she gave the child up to a family that she knew where the wife couldnt have children, and she knew later on in life when the child go older that shed be able to see the child at ease. Would it be wrong or right?

Answer #1

If a mother feels she can not raise the child properly or take care of it financially ab.ortion and adoption are never wrong options. Its a personal choice and no mother should be forced to have or keep a child she believes she can not raise and take care of.

Answer #2

i definetely think so, if your going to give the child a better life, its always a yes.

Answer #3

^ thats is exactly right.it is all on the mother of the child.if you feel that your not ready for a child or you think the child would be better off living with another family.either way it is your decision.

Answer #4

… Don’t adopt! My cousin is like…18 and she has a kid( I know shame XD ) but she thought she couldn’t do well but she’s doing fine!

Answer #5

Bottom line, what is the best thing for the child. In that situation, it may be the best decision. Only the parent can decide.

Answer #6

I am kinda in the same situation. Adoption is a wonderful thing, and to make sure your child gets the best of everything, with you or a adotive family, is the best thing. You never want an innocent child to suffer, want or need for anything. So yes, it would be a wonderful thing :)

Answer #7

It is right. If the mother is unstable then the child will most likely not have a good life, thats just how it works. She should give the baby up for adoption, where the baby will grow up happy and healthy. And then it will be hard and put a strain on things especially her depression if she is really attached to the baby.I know it sounds like im talking about a pet,but some mothers don’t exactly care.Anyways when she gets better one day hopefully she can be a part of the childs life still and move on with her life.Good Luck to your cousin dear.
