Best Friend Adoption

Okay, I am seventeen years old and my best friend is sixteen, turning seventeen in a month. Her parents dont abuse her physically in any way but emotionally and mentally they do. Her parents are very materialistic and care more about their things than their own daughter, they check the car first when she was in a wreck, if that tells you anything. Her parents dont listen to her when she talks, she’ll ask a simple question or say something in a completely normal voice and they’ll start yelling at her and go off on her. She’s the most mature and responsible sixteen year old I’ve ever met and she never does anything bad but her parents still treat her like she’s two. It seems to be getting worse as the days go and my friend can’t handle it anymore, she’s thought about dying and killing herself a lot, and though her parents acted the same way towards her older sister, her sister has no advice for her. I know its not legal for ME to adopt her, but if my parents wanted to adopt my friend, would that be legal? What all would we have to do to take action and would her parents have to agree to it?

Answer #2

it would be legal as long as the parents agree to pass your friend on to your family. visit the court. good luck <3

Answer #3

Where do you live because if you live in austrlia then when she truns 18 then she can legal move and there is nothing her parents can do. I am not sure on your parents adopting her though just speand a lot of time with her so she doesn’t do anything

Answer #4

yeah but the parents would have to agree to it. only way. unless the court finds the parents are not suitable to be her parents
