Is it wrong or sinful if someone grew up Christian but wants to become a Wiccan or want to do a Wiccan wedding?

Will they go to hell?

Answer #1

If you want to become a Wiccan, then why the concerns about going to hell? It sounds like your beliefs are all messed up.

Answer #2

I grew up with a Jehovah’s witness family. Then as I matured, I didn’t think that it was the right religion for me. So I would tell you to follow your heart. Do what you believe is right for you. If we all followed the same thing, we would be like an assembly line of robots.

Answer #3

Well it is “sinful” against christian, but I did it. The truth is, all religions have the same basis: Belief. If you have belief and faith in something, than you are in a religion. A religion is just a guide line for how you live life. if you are intrested in Wiccan than you will know that it is a good type of magic that involves healing, luck, happiness and rituals that are about remembering those who passed, helping those around you and blessing the future. So if the christian god is willing to send someone to “hell” for doing something so pure to the world, than he isnt a very thankful god now is he…

Answer #4

yeah but I am keeping this from my family because some of them are very religious christans.

Answer #5

I kept it from mine as well. It took me 19 years to finally tell them how I felt, and by that time, I was living on my own. So it may be best to hide it from them until you move out so the consequences will be minimum, if they are strict. But I went about it like this: “I have a few things I want to tell you guys, but I’m scared that you will be upset to hear them.” at first they thought I was pregnant so you may want to tell them that that’s not the case first off. Hope this helps

Answer #6

Your fear that leaving Christianity for Wicca may be a sin suggests that you still have some gut-level attachment to Christian beliefs. If you let your intellectual preference for Wicca “override” your gut, you may set yourself up for a long internal conflict. Maybe you feel you need that sharp break to cut your ties to Christianity. But a quick break won’t necessarily be stable if it’s not deeply rooted in your being. The main thing to remember, perhaps, is that there’s no hurry. Take your time to “hang out” with your abivalence between Wicca and Christianity. It may not always be comfortable, but I think you’ll learn more about who you are and what you think, feel, and want that way, so that whatever religious choice you come to make will be a true reflection of your personal and unique inward spiritual path.

Answer #7

Wiccans do not believe in Satan or hell… It has absolutely no place in their religion. Wiccans believe in Karmic retribution, meaning that if you send out bad energy into the universe it will come back to you. But you are solely responsible for those actions… the devil has nothing to do with it. People who claim to have left Wicca because of a bunch of bad things happening to them., Have converted over to Christian belief. and some believe it is based on whether or not you are a good person. Muslims believe you need to follow the Abrahamic God to go to Heaven, and some believe you have to be specifically Muslim. People of other religions have completely different opinions. There is no way for anyone to “know” this - it depends on what you choose to believe. It can go a lot of different ways..

I am strong in my faith, & pray that others were as strong as I am. But we live in a society where we have “freedom of choice.” So you decide on what’s right for “Dark_Rose.” Wiccans don’t believe in hell, so if you become one, that won’t even be an issue or a worry for you. But remember; That when we pass, we all have to go some place… I bless you on your journey & search for truth for a Higher power….

Answer #8

Amen to that blessing!

Answer #9

I have been Pagan for almost 18 years (I started Wiccan and expanded from there) and honestly your fears are fairly normal for someone new. I would suggest you do your research and take your time. Changing religions can be difficult, it can be hard to erase years of beliefs. Read lots, follow your heart and be open to the world. If Wicca is the right Religion for you your fears will eventually fade away and because bliss and joy.

Answer #10

ya i will have to agree. Either you believe in one God or many gods and goddesses. If you are truely a christian then yea it would be a sin. any form of witchcraft or astronomy is a sin.

Answer #11

you are supposed to turn to God for all the answers to ur problems like healing, luck, and happiness. you are supposed to put all ur faith in Him. I have been intersted in becomming wiccan b4 and studied it but honestly felt in my heart i was not supposed to mess around there. I was a christian and when i lost faith nd began worshiping another god i lost a lot of good things. Bad things happened. I no longer felt at peace. Like i lost my soul. So i beg for forgivness. nd i am saved. any religion u chose is ur choice. Im just telling my story. I feel so much cleaner and happier when i am Gods child. Things in my life seem to fall in place. I can say that i really and truely feel his presence.

Answer #12

those fears go away bc u sold ur soul is how i feel. U can be open to the world. and still do purifying rirtuals and not sin in Gods eyes. Like wantin to be rid of all negative energy. White candles and prayer and a clean house. I guess it just depends on how you feel. Some feel it is rite to believe in many gods. Some worship only one. the one thats been around for many years. wiccan is still new kinda. but i could see how it raises interest. I think i have more of a chance with God to make my life happy. No silly spells

Answer #13

It is the devils and demons who try to persuade ppl from God. Into a new wack religion. Like Spells can really make ur life better or luckier or happier. I believe that God is the answer to all of those. But it is a religion and i have to respect others and there belifs. so may u find the right path for you and may u be blessed along the way

Answer #14

Galations 5:19-21 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Answer #15

Deuteronomy 18:10-11 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead

Answer #16

Micah 5 But you, Bethlehem, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel. He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; And he will be their peace.

Your hand will be lifted up in triumph over your enemies, and all your foes will be destroyed.

I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells. I will destroy your carved images and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer bow down to the work of your hands

Answer #17

Bible has been around many many years. I just cant help but believe in it and its passages. I cannot be the one to stop u. But i believe it is wrong to be wiccan. I hope you choose the rite path. If you are finding your religion a lil boring… which may be why u r wanting to convert. Do some research on angels and demons. Really its not boring. its amazing. we r at war with the demons. will u be sucked in to there trap or remain Gods child and wait for Jesus 2nd comming? These r all my belifs. I have no desire to bring anyone down. or offend anyone. Im sorry if i had. I hope you make the right choice. Think about how long christianity has been around. Wiccan is new nd i hear its one of the top sins besides adultry and astronomy. Its not that i dont have a open mind or heart its just closed to the evil and wicked.

Answer #18

Well i wouldnt say its “wrong” to be exact but if u grew up christian i recommend u stay that way cuz a religion is not only a religion but its also a tradition ur family starts and changing religion is not the best way 2 go but yet it is ur life and u should do what u feel is right but just have in mind that in the future is where it truely reflects everything u have done.

Answer #19

i agree. I found that when i played around with wicca for a while that i knew in my heart is was not right and i had to be saved again. Play around and you mite find who u really r and wat u really believe in. and it will make u more in tune with ur religion. which ever u choose

Answer #20

Here is my advice to you. You are clearly in a very unsure “in-between” place. I am wiccan and I can tell you from experience that you dont need to jump from one label to another. If you think you find your spiritual calling with Wicca take your time to learn about it, you can RESEARCH religions without commiting to it, take some time to be a “seeker”, i see you had a question about wiccans going to hell, if you didnt know the basic belief our view on the afterlife what makes you so sure and quick to jump right in? It took me time to find out who I am , I found everything i need in Wicca but part of that means I dont think im the only right person, so wicca might not be for you. But you are the only one who knows.

You might be wiccan, you might not, but before you get heavy in the secrets from the family and start worrying about stuff take some time to really research and question before you jump in. I think everyone should do that before they decide on any religion. To fully believe in something and respect it you have to question and pick and pry, not blindly follow.

Blindly following is a huge problem people have, and everyone needs to take some time to really think once in awhile.

Good luck on your research. Im here on funadvice if you have questions

Answer #21

someone already told me that.

Answer #22
