What are shitzu's prone to healthwise?

What are shitzu’s prone to… healthwise? My pupper is 14 years old… and aside from the allergies and cataracts… is very healthy. What is this breed prone to… heart disease or stomach issues. What are the symptoms? The reason for the question is… this time… her diarrehea and vomiting are different. There’s a sick smell and blood. I have made sure she is hydrated, no food and is quiet.

Take her to the vet…this is a TOXIC reaction to something, not a “genetic” flaw…

PS…The vet will probably send you home with Flagyl, to quiet her guts…until you can get her to the vet, give her an Immodium (wrap it in cheese, as it has “binding” qualities)…put her on boiled rice, with a little hamberger or chicken in it (not knowing if her allergies are food related, so which ever she can take)…just give her a little at a time…if she doesn’t want it…that’s ok. She’ll be ok after a couple of days on the Flagyl, but give her the whole prescription, anyway.

Good that you’re keeping her quiet…the Immodium makes them a little sleepy, also, and that helps…
