Why are you Fancied to be Demonic if your not of a Biblical Religi

re-doing this 1 I guess I need to re-word it pl keep throwing darts but missing the bullseye if you know what I mean

Why is it that if you’re not of a biblical religion people who are automatically demonize you & fancy you a Satanist? Sorry but when I say I’m not a biblical religion it means I’m not & have nothing to do with it meaning I’m not Satanist either, which is basically a rebellion of Christianity. I have better things to do with my life than to waste it.

Why is it that if you’re not of some biblical religion you’re fancied to have no morals & are made a potential criminal? It ticks me off! Everyone has morals that they live by! Just because they’re not Christian or whatever doesn’t mean we’re demonic or out to get those who are!

Why do people of a biblical religion don’t want us to judge them without knowledge but will freely open their mouths * spread rumors of other people’s religion? As the old saying goes, what goes around comes around. You don’t want some one to do something set an example or something, or just don’t open your mouth.

Practice what you preach, shut your mouth, & OPE NYOUR MINDS!

I’d like to correct two of pfenix’s points in his otherwise great post.

Easter is not derived from Ostara, but “Eostre” or “Eastre” (Eostre being the Northumbrian form, it’s the most famous due to it’s use by the Northumbrian, Bede) . Eostre being the English form of the deity known as Ostara in what is now Germany. So thus it’s a cognate, but the Old English and Old German forms being descended from the Proto-Germanic “*Austron”.

Thursday is likewise from “Thunor’s Day”. Thunor being the English form of the God known as Thor is Scandinavia and Donner in Germany…all from the Proto-Germanic *Thunraz. The modern word “thunder” is from this root, being derived from the Old English Thunor (note that the name of the God in all the languages is the same as thunder and thus he is literally “thunder”.

ALL of us, I say again, ALL of us have fallen short of the glory of God - you paint with a large brush when you presume everyone views you as demonic if you’re of no religion - not true - ALL are sinners - forgiveness is available if you want it - if you don’t , your choice - all the answers you seek are found in the Bible - hope you’ll read it with an open heart/mind - not a heart waxed cold…Take care !!

Answer #3

Yes, I do think it’s an American thing. I don’t think peoples’ minds work like that in Europe, either. You could be considered weird, or trendy, or alternative, or mistaken, or whatever, but not usually demonic, I think. Even as a Christian, I think you realise that I don’t see you as demonic. I’m aware your spiritual choices and interests are nothing to do with Judaeo-Christian religions/deities.

Well, first I’m posting without reading all of the other postings, so I hope I’m not repeating someone. Also, I am a medieval scholar…which means that I can/do speak from a position of education rather than indoctrination.

Christianity was an outlawed religion for its first few hundred years, until the early 4th century when it became the legal religion on Rome. Therefore, they knew about being the underdog…then they learned about having what seemed like unlimited power. During the several centuries of Roman expansion across Western and Eastern Europe, they encountered a variety of religions (typically refered to as pagan, heathen, saracin) deeply ensconsed in the newly conquered areas.

St Agustine speaks to this, in The City of God, from a Roman Christian perspective as he gives much attention to the methods by which the Romans superimposed their culture (with religion being indispensible) onto that of the indigenous peoples. Many “Christian” holidays, therefore, coincide with pagan ones and even contain certain elements of the original rituals (like fertility symbols from Ostara at Easter…a word derived from “Ostara”).

When the Romans could not effectively alter by this means, they often used fear and force to effect change…they were, of course, conquerers. As a result, many aspects of ancient Western religions (much older than Judaism and Christianity) were demonized and often associated with the “anti” Christ.

Today we see remants of this including the pentagram (which is the most commonly used pagan symbol and means NOTHING upside down!), the horned god (images of Satan are based on him but he has nothing to do with Christian mythos), the number 13 (is part of Christian superstition as was demonized because it is a special number to the Goddess Freya…her name is where we get the word “Friday”…or Freya’s Day.) [Oh, and BTW, Saturday is “Saturn’s Day”, Sunday is “Sun’s Day”, Monday is “Moon’s Day”, Wednesday is “Woden’s Day”, Thursday is “Thor’s Day”…so there’s paganism everywhere you look!!)

So, with all of this said, demonization of a person, ideal, image, etc grows out of a desire for power and out of a fear of loosing power gained. It is the same basic human action that results in us putting down others “to make ourselves feel better.” Unfortunately religions often cannot rise above the pettiness of man to reflect the divine.

im a christian, I dont view you as a satanist person, as its been said its your choice, but I do disagree that you said its a waist of time…it doesn take up your time…I dont inderstand why you or other people says that…im not in a biblical religion…I am a christian…yes I read the Bible, and yes I believe in it…but I am a christian the Bible is my tool so to speak, when you say you dont want to waste your time…so your saying you want to do whatever and spend the rest of your time (eternity) in hell??? sorry to say but thats not a wise choice and those who dont believe in hell will come to a rude awakening…as I said I dont believe you are, I do believe you need to get to God and let him change your life in a wonduras way…I dont believe your satanist, I believe you are lost…dont mean to sound to judge but the Bible does say fruits will show and I see none…I think people needs to forget the scince part and economically, people needs to think bout people’s souls…time will come where people will have to confess and ALL will have to be judged in front of him…even those who are saved…once again its a choice and nobody needs to threaten others as far as other beliefs as long as they believ ein Christ and the blood and salvation…what does it matter if they are catholic, bapt. or whatever…

Answer #6

Jesus says your either with him or against him, so obviously if your not ‘with him’ (Christian) then you would be of the world which temporaily belongs to Satan.

…a prime example.

nobody needs to threaten others as far as other beliefs as long as they believe in christ

…ooh, ANOTHER prime example.

Answer #7

Answer #8

It’s because Christians believe that everyone has to believe in something. They can’t even fathom that you could just not believe in anything.

Answer #9

Because we live in a Christian society. Studies have shown most Americans are historically suspicious of the morals of those from other religious, or irreligious, backgrounds.

Answer #10

“once again its a choice and nobody needs to threaten others as far as other beliefs as long as they believ ein Christ and the blood and salvation…what does it matter if they are catholic, bapt. or whatever…”

nobody needs to threaten others as far as other beliefs AS LONG AS THEY BELIEVE IN CHRIST… so, if they don’t believe in christ they deserve to be threatened?

what does it matter if they are catholic, baptist or whatever?

you do understand the the world contains MANY more religions that just christianity?

and that all religions and beliefs, even if they differ from yours, deserve respect…

Answer #11

Practice what you preach, shut your mouth, & OPE NYOUR MINDS! I did, I use to think just like you. . then I grew up. Sounds like your mad at everyone because they don’t understand something. Anger only creates more anger and misunderstanding only grows when that anger is fed. That is why some religions seek a secret path not publically proclaiming themselves in areas where they will meet this angry misunderstanding which only poison the followers of these groups with Still more anger and a confusion. . Remember sometimes it’s better to swallow some pride and live in silence than to publically proclaim what you are and get whowered with verbal stones.

Answer #12

Every one to themselves right? As long as they’re not totally in your face about it then does it really matter?
