Why religious people engage in fornication?

In the bible and many other religious texts fornication is considered a big sin. jesus himself commands that his followers don’t commit fornication also reffred to as premartial sex. I just don’t understand why people who claim to be religious have premartial sex, even though it states in most religious scriptures that premartial sex or fornication is a big sin. can anyone answer this? I’m not trying to be mean, it is just I find a lot of incontencies between what a person of a religion does compared to what his or her religious text, bible, koran, torah, bhagavad-gita etc. Etc. Says. can somebody please tell me why this is so, why religious people engage in premartial sex even though almost all religions prohibit premartial sex? thank you

Religious person or non-religious person, >> anyone << who has sex outside of marriage is commiting the sin of ‘fornication’ - Definition: noun: voluntary sexual intercourse between persons not married to each other. noun: extramarital sex that willfully and maliciously interferes with marriage relations.

Answer #2

Well, I think the reason why some people in there religion who have Fornication or premarital sex is that they think that its not sin when they are breaking the rules of there church. (I also think its because they get anxious to have sex and relieve stress by Master Bation and so forth). So, people who commit fornication or premarital sex, they need to repent for this sin so they won’t do it again. I can tell you, I’ve never engaged in fornication physically but, I do have to admit that I’ve had phone sex from calling these phone chat lines that have allot of perverted men on them and they seem to have turned me on. (I knew it was wrong and I needed to repent so I went to my Branch President of my LDS church and told him what was going on). I must tell you, I never had phone sex again and I’m clean. For those who attend church and do those things they need to really straighten up. Hope this answers your question.

Many comments, all Christians, I think. So the thing is that if you have premartial sex, fornication, than you shouldn’t be considered a Christian because Jesus prohibted fornication.

You understand the part about the rules, you do not understand how Jesus came to save us, not destroy us.

In Christianity it says that people who don’t follow God’s rules will go to Hell.

That is up to God to decide. He did not give us that ability, nor priviledge.

If one has received Christ and sins( and I have not known of one perfect Christian) the bible says we have an advocate, with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Jesus came to live within us, and gradually take away our want to to sin. He will, he does and he can. I am living proof.

He does not throw us away, when we mess up, he lovingly picks us up, dusts us off, and sets us back on the right path.

You, on the other hand, would condemn us to hell… for our sin. Jesus does not… he offers a remedy. Himself.

Another thing is that why do you say Jesus is the only person who lived a sinless life? Many other people have sinless lives too.

If you dislike God, and the bible, and Jesus so much, why are you here?

Satan wanted to be equal to God. I guess you do too???

It seems that you have him on trial.

And you present your self righteousness.

A prostitute that has been forgiven, will enter heaven.

Self righteous will be stopped at the gate.

bbb… Gods law was given to show us how we fall short of his expectations.

And to show us that we can’t achieve salvation on our own.

He sent Jesus to rescue us from our sins.

and to deliver us from evil.

One that sins has not yet met the cross.

He may have salvation, and still sin.

When he comes to the cross, he is delivered of the want to to sin.

The bible says, those that have suffered in the flesh, have ceased to want to sin.

This is a work of grace in our lives.

Many may have salvation.

Many sin with salvation.

But, when Jesus does the deeper work of sanctification in ones life, that life will be changed.

Some receive this instantly, others later on. Some never.

Jesus cleans up his own.

If you look at others, you will stumble.

Look to Jesus and live.

He said, I desire mercy, rather than sacrifice.

He is more interested in our heart condition, than what we do, because, when he gets the heart right, we will have no desire to sin.

It looses its appeal.

You may never understand these words, until you try to live right, and stumble.

Then and only then, will you understand mercy and grace.

Blessings…

Answer #5

Some people are stronger than others. Some are tempted harder than others. Some give in. Some don’t.

It is a wonderful thing if one can live their life without sin.

Many cannot.

That is why God offers forgiveness.

Without it, there would be no one in heaven.

The bible says that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.

We may miss that particular sin, but, Jesus is the only man that lived, without sin.

The rest of us, have to be forgiven.

A Christian can be deceived.

This is where sin starts… in deception.

Satan plants thoughts into our minds, and if we act upon them, then, we sin.

He makes us think the thoughts are our very own.

He is very subtle.

If we judge our brother, we may very well be the next to be caught in the trap.

Then we will understand what he/she went thru.

We will see how weak we can be, when Satan attacks us.

To silver wings: Does not explain why people who break God’s rule call themselves Christians. If you don’t follow Jesus’s words, then you are not a Christian. Another thing is that many people live sinless lives, not just Jesus. You think nobody else was ever pure

What angel said!!

Answer #9

bbb,

I agree with you completely. It’s ridiculous to me that someone would claim to follow a religion and then break the rules without concern. This problem is far more widespread than people want to admit. It’s easy to justify bad behavior and humans excel at it.

Answer #10

Well I just think that if a person doesn’t follow what his or her religion says than he or she should either follow a religion that allow premartial sex or just be considered an atheist. If you are not going to follow the rules of a religion then you don’t belong to that religion. Nobody should claim to be Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist etc if they don’t follow the rules of their religion.

Answer #11

The simple answer is, sex is an instinctive drive few can resist. Instincts don’t care whether or not you’re married.

Further, most religious people do not consider their holy texts to be inerrant. It’s easy to justify what you want to do if you aren’t really sure it’s wrong.

Answer #12

not everyone does. its just the few who gave in to temptations. but well. Salvation and God’s grace is for free. so you may sin, but repentence and forgiveness is gave during confession.

Answer #13

The same question could be asked of any sin, really. It’s because sin has pleasure– even if it is just for a season. Most of the time it’s because they don’t realize how easy it is to fall into sin. It’s not that they necessarily wake up one morning and say, I’m going to go out and fornicate, but it starts out with building a connection with a person over time that shouldn’t be there.

Like any sin, it always happens in the mind before acting it out. The thief envied, the murderer got angry, etc.

A Christian shouldn’t engage in fornication, but sometimes they don’t take the right steps to prevent it. If they show no remorse after the fact, they should wonder about their true stance as a Christian.

Answer #15

well we get tempted just as much as other people do. angel is right. most of us are hypocrits. we do sin, because we are only human. we arent perfect. nobody is, will be, or has been, except for jesus. all ? sins are equal. we ask for God’s forgiveness… and he forgives us. we will still be judged on judgement day for that (well whoever has done that) now im not saying that you can go have sex then ask god for forgiveness and then go and have sex again. thats wrong and god doesnt appreciate that. its like taking advantage of someone.

Answer #16

Because they’re hypocrites

Where did you get all of this from. I never said any of this in my question. I just asked a question.
