Why does my Dad think this!?

Ok… I’m a 14 year old girl, and I have been through quite a lot recently… and I am now living with my Dad and his girlfriend and their baby and my 2 sisters.

I felt really upset the other day, and I really needed a hug from my Dad, so I went to hug him and afterwards he and his girlfriend were like

‘He’s your Dad not your girlfriend’!!! So now its like I can’t even give him a hug without him feeling really awkward and uncomfortable!

But he never used to feel like this, he would alllways give me hugs and kisses and stuff… only like 6 months ago!!

Why does he think its so wrong?! I really need a hug.

find comfort from hormonal boys… He needs to be reminded of his valuable role as your father.

tell your dad to quit being a girl about things.

hes a man, he is your dad.

tell him to grow up, your his daughter.

hugs are obvious between this relationship.

My guess is he doesn’t know how you feel and he’s being influenced by his girlfriend. She’s being VERY immature about this whole thing and it’s likely she felt a little jealous of your dad’s affection towards you- which is stupid. Their relationship and your relationship with him are two totally different things.

Jess, I bet if you were to tell your father (without his girlfriend around) how you felt, he’d definitely come back around.

It’s 100% ok for dads to hug and kiss on their daughters- if more dads were affectionate, there’s be less girls running off to find comfort from hormonal boys… He needs to be reminded of his valuable role as your father.

well it sounds to me that his girlfriend is a a**hole so dont let her get in the way of you and your dad I was having a prob like that too so I moved out and moved in with my older bro
