At school I can take anything but at home any little thing will get me set off but sometimes I can bottle everything up at home but usally its blow up and my mom wont get me a phycatrist for me because she doesnt belive I have a mental problem any ideas on how to make her belive me

Also it would help if you could tell me what mental problem lets me bottle stuff up sometimes and just blow up other times

Answer #1

porky, someone under the age of 18 cannot go see a psychiatrist on their own in most places (especially under those circumstances). Not only is it expensive but parental consent is needed in many countries.

Answer #2

I think you should get yourself a phycatrist. you can help yourself

What anger management does is…give you tools that you can use in order not to bottle stuff up, yet not vent in a destructive way. Once those tools are in your hands, it’s up to you to use them.

Talk to a counselor at school…you might as well get this under control now while you’re young…I’ll bet ya, a counselor will set you up with some help.

You have anger problems… Like most of the above mentioned, is not something that is really “mental” Is just a feeling you know, you can talk it out… and you know talk about it, so like a councelor. So thats why your mom is making this aside because you don’t have a mental disorder. So just act right. Whats making you mad? I mean I guess you could talk about it, but still…

Answer #5

That’s what anger management issues are…you bottle things up until you finally lose control. If you managed your emotions properly, you’d find ways to vent your frustrations in a more healthy manner.

Answer #6

Anger management difficulties is not a mental disorder. I suppose it could be considered a dysregulation of emotion, but that’s still not a mental disorder. Honestly, it probably sounds to your mother like you’re making excuses for your behavior. Instead of trying to justify your behavior with a mental disorder (sorry, unless you’re mentally retarded or psychotic, throwing temper tantrums cannot be excused), why dont you tell her that you’d like someone to talk to? That way she can get you a counselor who can help you regulate your emotions better.

Answer #7

Bottling everything up when things upset you can usually lead to an overload, which can lead to an outburst. If something is upsetting you, have you tried talking to people about the things when they happened? If you had a positive outlet and worked on the things instead of bottling them up, chances are you could be feeling a lot better.

With that being said, all you can do is try. If you seriously feel like you have mental disorder, you could always try seeing a school counselor or making an appointment with a doctor. From what you’ve said it doesn’t seem to me like you have one, but I’m not a medical professional and can’t diagnose that.

But that’s my take on it.

Answer #8

I know that but then how come I can bottle it up

Answer #9

It sounds like you have anger management issues.
