Why do people hate emo kids??

I am emo people, and I have noticed a like…meanie pants attitude toward me from other kids who are not emo. I dont cut my wrists, fake emo kids who need mental help do. the popular kids make fun of my kick azz skinny jeans and I make fun of their slutty skirts. LOL! :D any way, I am very confused about this pressing matter, oh and if you are an emo hater, dont even bother posting a comment, no one cares :PPP

Answer #2

Rofl, hun.. No one is emo. I wear skinny jeans .. I have black hair, I’ve been depressed, I wear black make up, and shiit like that, but I have never thought I was emo.. Nobody is emo. I’m not hating on you or anything , but labels are not for people..clearly you don’t know the meaning of emo.

Emo is a genre of music. Not a person

Answer #3

People tend to define people by outward appearances. The fact is most people don’t know what “emo” really means, and associate it with the social scene teens have created (if you could even call it a social scene). Chances are, asking that question will reveal no original or logical answer. The action of hating anything is still a mystery, because people can’t really explain why they don’t like things. They just don’t.

Self-mutilation is not a product of being a member of a social niche. “Emo” individuals can harm themselves the same way any other person in the world can, regardless of the stereotypical label applied. Self-harm isn’t a funny situation, and neither is mental illness. So when you implicate that people who suffer from those things you do nothing to distance yourself from the people who make fun of you for whatever differences you exhibit.

If anything though, the truth is people will tend to dislike things they don’t understand or relate to. Sort of like people liking certain foods and recoiling from others. It’s not really a mystery at all.

Answer #4

well it seems as though every click makes fun of another one. do you make fun of preps?

Answer #5

The reason people hate Emo’s is because they dont really know what emo means.. They think Emo’s have to cut themselves .. Be suicidal .. and Sht like that.. really emo means that your emotional.. People used to tease me because I was “aparently” emo.. but really I was soo depressed that I would do sht to meself.. for example try to kill myself by jumping off bridges, cars and a lot more.. I got help from my the friends to get over it.. But emo is exactly what A7x parade said listen to him..

Answer #6

Sounds like they may just be jealous of you, and with the extra info that is really none of their business, doesn’t help your situation. I wouldn’t waste my energy on those kids are give them the time of day. Ignore them, keep a smile on your face, and find something positive you enjoy doing. Don’t let them think they upset you. If you are not in counceling, get there. You are going to be just fine.

Answer #7

‘emo’ kids complain all the time about labels, when they’re the only one I hear talking about them. every single day theres a question on here asking why people hate emo kids. I dont see preppy people on here saying oh why do all the emos hate me? and emos make fun of preppy people alll the time, then cry when they’re talked about. you said it yourself, they talk about you and you talk about their slutty skirts.

Answer #8

because majority of the people who talk about emo and majority of the kids who call themselves emo still have no idea what the word means emo is nothing more than a genre of music and a style of dress it has nothing to do with cutting, self harm. or depression, a mental disorder feelings and emotions play NO part in any label or sterotype plus theres many kids who join the fad because there either depressed/cut, and think thats what emo is all about because they beleive what idiots tell them howevere hating something is normal im sure theres something, someone, a genre off music or another sterotype that you hate and thasts normal just as its normal for other people to hate the emo sterotype no one likes the same thing. there will be people who love it, hate it, and couldnt care less about it its just part of life

Answer #9

I don’t have a prob wit emos people think there different wich they are were all different in are own waysx

Answer #10

Are you projecting an image ?

Answer #11

I ma emo.. I cut my wrists! and people make fon of me even when I dont have any marks on me I wear skinny jeans too. the only reason I cut MY wrist is because someone told me I must be depressed. so the reason people hate emo’s is because they are self consicous and need to make fun of others to make up for their sh*tty lives.

Answer #12

Im clearly not an emo but it just seemz like they try to put them selvez kinda in a position 2 where people should feel bad 4 them I dont want this to come across wrong or anything because im not trying to say it like that. But why cant people just be happy not like preppy because I cant stand no preppy azz people I would neva be able 2 hang wit a preppy person. But n-e-way I no people go though stuff but that shouldnt get in the way of yo personality and you bein happy.

Answer #17

Emos are VERY misjudged. People believe the stupid lies/rumors that the haters have started. People need to get their facts straight and get to know them before they judge them.

Here are your true facts on emos -

There’s nothing wrong with them at all. They’re not all attention seekers, only the posers act like that. They’re not weird, scary, evil or anything like that. A lot of people don’t know the true meaning behind emo as a style. A lot of lies have been started about it such as emos cut/are depressed/are suicidal 24/7. That’s COMPLETELY untrue. Suicide is something that should be taken seriously no matter what and has nothing to do with ANY stereotype. Cutting/self harm is an important matter that needs to be tended to ASAP. It also has nothing to do with any stereotype. Depression is a MEDICAL CONDITION. It has NOTHING to do with stereotypes. a lot of people have depression issues. That’s something that should be taken care of by a doctor.

~As I’ve already stated, cutting/depression/suicide has NOTHING to do with being emo or any other stereotype. Cutting is a serious matter that needs to be handled ASAP. Depression is a MEDICAL CONDITION and a lot of people have it, NOT just emos. That should be treated by a doctor. Suicide is something that should ALWAYS be taken seriously no matter what. It has nothing to do with stereotypes of ANY KIND.

~Bulimia has NOTHING to do with ANY stereotyes either. This is a MEDICAL CONDITION that should be treated by a doctor ASAP.

~Dying your hair doesn’t make you emo. A lot of emos have their natural hair color. Hair color has nothing to do with it at all.

~Attention seeking also has nothing to do with emo. Attention seekers are in a class all by themselves.

~Emo is a music type and also a type of style

~People who say things like “I wanna turn emo”, “Am I an emo?”, “How do I be emo?”, “I think I’m going/turning emo!”, “Help me, I’m emo!” or “Help I think I’m emo” are considered posers. If you have to ask other people how to look/be something, chances are your NOT and just trying to be something your not.

~Ignore the haters. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being emo. Emos are actually nice, friendly people.

~A lot of lies/rumors have been started about emos such as they cut, they’re always depressed, they’re very btchy and moody. This is NOT true. As I’ve already stated, self harm/cutting and depression have nothing to do with ANY stereotype. And you wanna know why some emos might be bthcy? Because they’re sick of the fcktards who act like they know everything about emo, when in reality they don’t know sht because they’re the idiots that believe they lies! That’s very wrong indeed.

~You DON’T HAVE to have piercings to be emo, or be shy. Some emo kids are actually very out-going. Piercings are a form of self expression and body art. It doesn’t make you emo just because you choose to have them.

~Converse isn’t something that makes you emo either. Some emos wear vans, others wear skater shoes.

~Wearing blue, or other funky colored pants… not emo. Sorry, they wear whatever they want. Not ALL are skin tight either. Some are just nromal skinny jeans or even a little loose-fitting.

~Band T’s are also NOT a must. They wear any shirt they want to.

Now THIS is advice for ANYONE to follow, including yourself -

ALWAYS be yourself. NEVER change who you are for ANYONE no matter what. Never change yourself just to fit in or anything like that either. True friends/lovers would be able to accept you for who you truly are.

Hopefully this helps you, if you need anything else, let me know.

Answer #18

I don’t hate emo people because strictly speaking I am one and I didn’t even know ‘till everyone made a big deal out of it but the preppiest people I know are the ones they’re calling emo… I hate the steriotype and the people who think that an army hat is emo… I don’t even see how they could judge people as being emo when almost none of them can even give you an answer when you ask if they know what it is so really they just can’t understand the concept

Answer #19

… what in the hell… you do realize that people who self injure do indeed need mental attention but why the fuck would you call them emo fakers?!?! And secondly “emo” is a style of music from the 80’s which was originaly called emotional hardcore but then shortened to emocore. Eventually the fans of the genre began to dress like the bands they listened to. The style is derived from goth and punk (or what soon became the punk style, evolving from the punk rock music just as emo has). It ,emo, has absolutly nothing to do with a shy, depressed, introverted indiviual. Nor with self mutilation. In fact what I am sure you are talking about is the “scene” style floating around. So how about from now on, think before you ask a question, mkay?
