Why do I get lower back and stomach pains after my jog?

Every time I go for a jog or run and regardless of how long my jog is weather it’s 5 or 15 minutes long I still always come home a get a lower back pain and stomach pains (like a period pain) and then the pain gets so intense I begin to feel very sick then after about half an hour the pains and sickness will go. I don’t warm up before I jog and I only go for the jog now and again, say once a month, if not less, could either of these things be the reason for my problem? Is there any way to stop this for happening? Thanks.

You should always warm up before you jog (atleast a good 5 minutes) with stretching, and maybe a few jumping jacks. Since you’re having pain in the lower back and stomach strtch them a little bit extra then everywhere else.

Also if you aren’t regularly exercising then your body isn’t used to the activity. The more often you jog the more likely it is you won’t get the pain.

Other things:

  • Do not eat heavy right before
  • After your jog walk it off for atlest 5 minutes
  • Stretch after the walk, again atleast five minutes
  • To replenish your body have a meal consisting of pasta to give you energy.
  • Pasta is also good a few hours before to give you more energy

If the pain does not cease see a doctor. Don’t worry about it until then, I used to get the same pain.

it could be a number of things. if your over exausting urself, and, it being only say once a month and not regularly it could be that your body isnt used to it also, make sure you warm up before your jog!! its very important, make sure you stretch too and its very very very important to stretch AFTER u’ve gone for your jog aswell maybe your going to fast? pace urself, go slower and try going like 2 or 3 times a week for your body to get used to it and never over do it if after doing all these things, your still getting the pain I recommend you go to the doctor. hope I helped ;)

I have been to marine corps boot camp and the same thing happened to a lot of us. its normal cause the drill insrtuctors told us that when your body is going under a lot of stress and it is new to the body then its going to give out discharges or what not. keep it regular and dont hurt yourself on a first time workout and you will be fine
