Why are Jews so hated?

People are afraid of difference. They may feel intimidated by the Jews, so that’s why they hate them. I myself have nothing against Jews. I think that they are some of the coolest people and I have many friends that are Jews. Yes it is a bit intimidating knowing that most of them are a lot smarter than me, but I’d never persecute them for it.

People have done ( as you state it) sh*tty things to almost everyone around them. To black people over the centuries because of their skin color, to women because of their gender, to men because they can.

The terrible things that are done in the world certainly aren’t limited to Jews. Yes, they were treated badly, but they are definitely not the only ones.

Unfortunately some people are just ignorant about each other and different religions, races etc. And also unfortunately there is nothing that you or I can do about the hate for anyone in this world. It is not something that has ever or will ever change.

It’s interesting. I mean it isnt about the bible or christianity, Jewish persecution had been going on for centuries before that. I’m not sure. This is a question I’ve always wondered about. Although a lot of different people have been persecuted through the centuries, it seems that the Jewish people have been uniquely persecuted through out their history. I wonder if it is (and this is a generalization) because they do have their unique rituals and exclusivist tendencies. Which, of course, is meant to continue on their traditions and for really the continuation of Jewish people, they are unique in a way because they have managed to do this despite not having a large population or having a home land for centuries, however, I do wonder if this keeps them separate from others and thus has led to an increased persecution. People do get persecuted if they are seen as outsiders. It does not make it ok, but it could be part of the reason. Really I dont get it, but people are strange.

Are you implying that the Israelis have ever lost any kind of war? They survived most of the middle east for seven days straight, causing far more damage than they took. I don’t think they ever lost any significant battles to the Palestinians. And as far as I know, there isn’t any genocide going on. Israelis have been kicked out of there homes so that the Palestinians could have somewhere to live for a while. They’re the ones who wont be satisfied. They want more, and if they can’t have it, they go and try to commit terrorist acts against Israel. Thus, they end up getting outside forces involved who come in and compromise, forcing Israel to give up more to the Palestinians each time. Remind you of anything or anyone? (Nazi Germany, Hitler?)

But if we are ‘going there’…BOTH sides are wrong. Both are attacking each other…Both are stubborn and unyielding…Both are wrong. Many israelis and palestinians want a two state resolution, hopefully this is still a possibility but if hivetyrant or joseaph are any indication of attitude..then they will continue on the same path…destruction.

To hivetyrant - I am jewish and no, the conflict in the middle east does NOT remind me of Nazi Germany. Israelis are strong and organized…a massive, well-tuned fighting machine…the victims of Nazi Germany were not. The Nazis destroyed an innocent, helpless people.

To joseaph - the Yom Kippur War was not won by the egyptians or syrians…they won the EARLY battles thus it is considered a victory in the arab world. But the war ended in a CEASE FIRE brought about by the U.S. and Soviet Union. At that time Israeli forces were only 40 kilometers from Damascus and 101 kilometers from Cairo. Not quite a victory, for either side.

Rather the Old Testament has the answer. The simple answer is that the Jews are God’s chosen people. God called them my people. (And if you are wondering why God called only them as “My People” then you will not find answer to that question only if you study the Bible. So don’t jump at me with that question.) Since they disobeyed the Lord they are under a curse. That is why they suffer all this persecution.
