Why am I so self conscious?

I’m always worrying what people think of me even if I try not to care. I now want to start running because I’ve gained some weight (which is also another reason why I’m uncomfortable with how I look). I run in the mornings because 1) its quiet and most people are still asleep so there won’t be many cars passing by when I run and 2) because of the fresh air and nice weather here.

My mum seems fed up with me worrying what other people think. Even I’m fed up with myself! I don’t know why, but I just think that while I’m running someone out there is sitting and making fun of me. Lol it’s really stupid, but I dont know. I mean when I see people running I think “oh nice, they want to be healthy”. Am I even making sense

a lot of people have this same problem. you just have to try not to think about it and look at it from other peoples perspectives. most of the time, people arent even paying any attention to you. they havent noticed you’ve gained weight or anything because frankly, most people could care less. when you see someone running, you think, “oh, they’re being healthy.” chances are, everyone else thinks the same thing! think about it as if you were the other people, would you really care if you saw someone running? no! youre just over thinking things. dont think about it. plus, if people dont like you or have an issue with you running or your weight, thats their problem, not yours.

You are making complete sense! I’m thirteen and I feel the same way sometimes. It’s not a bad thing to care about how you look. If you do what I do and drink four bottles( eight Eight ounce glasses) every day, eat healthy( except one day a week) and excersise then I can garenty that you will loose weight and look excelenrt for swimsuit sceason! :). Hope I helped and hope it all works out well. Good luck
